HONDA Announces 2013 BOTB Lineup





:noidea: Isn't this Alcorn State's first appearance at the Honda?

A friend is trying to convince me they've already been 3 times before.

I told her I've been to every single Honda and do not recall seeing Alcorn State's band in it.

I think she might be thinking of PVAM....or some other purple and gold band :noidea:

That is your opinion but what about the opinion of all those new freshmen at JSU who haven't been a participants. Just say been happy for them and move on. BCU, Tenn State, JSU & NCAT have all been more than 3 times so should they all bow out?

I actually agree with the everyone else. HBOTB has always been about exposure to the 'lesser-known' bands. To have a powerhouse band just helps bring in the money. The Boom can bow out again, but I'm sure if they get on the ballot next year, they'll be chosen again and these freshmen will still have their chance.

From experience, being a participant for the HBOTB is more work then fun. Especially since they put bands in different hotels where they use to be in one or two.
 
Its only boring because everyone has about the same format and sometimes the same song. The bands that differentiate themselves are usually the ones voted most entertaining. Boring or not i'll continue to support it, HS games are costing more than the $10 honda ticket. Small price for a nice financial reward to the school.
 
I've never been to the Honda event but if Honda is REALLY paying for all travel expenses, and then giving you 20K on top of that, I can't see the reason for not going. JSU obviously didn't have enough in the budget to go to UAPB and TxSo so if this is a way to make some money, I'm all for it.

Exactly!! Folks talking about JSU should bow out and let Valley go. Shyytttt! Valley need to get their people on board to VOTE!!! That's why I asked if money was involved (Honda paying out). :retard:

The main JSU folks talking about let Valley go be the main ones complaining when the Boom can't travel to all the games.

Man they hardly ever make that sTu trip and I think they sat out the UAPB for the Bamma State trip...

The BOOM always goes to UAPB. I think the budget made them choose. We need to get to the point where we can afford to travel to every game. I can understand not going to TxSo but UAPB was a 3hr bus ride. :confused:
