Historic SWAC Data Needed....

I remember someone posted a link to a site that had some of the early SWAC and I think it also had other I-AA and D2 schools on it as well -- not sure. But anyway...

I recall it displayed the games that were played in the early years between ASU and TROY STATE.

Heck it may have been a link that was the history of ASU's "Gulf Coast Classic" --- I just can't remember anything other than seeing the head-to-head match ups with ASU and Troy State.

Reason being, I have this Troy State schmuck that claims that ASU has never beat Troy State.... garbage!

Anywho... if anyone has that info --- holla back!

I can personally confirm that's a lie.

I was at the game when ASU started back playing toy after many years of us not playing them.

Game was called "showdown at high noon". It was ridiculously hot that day!!!!!!
We won on the last play of the game. Touchdown to Downtown Reggie Brown. In the end zone right by the student section.
 
MH, 10-15 years later, this is how you are going to remember your victories over JSU. It's sad that you remember that ONE win.
 
Troy State was sorry that year....and I guess D2 or something. Look at that schedule. The lost to MS College. LOL

Actually, we haven't played toy that much. And the hype leading up to that game was something else. The local media had a lot of toy grads. I remember Montgomery's mayor walking around the sidelines (probably hoping and praying that ASU lose)

last play of the game and we burst their hearts. Hardly nothing from the media after that game.
Call it what you want, but I will always remember that game.


as far as JSU games, I'll remember the 61!!!!!

I could see if you beat us 61-10 or even 61-30 but you won 61-58. I'm sorry but that is nothing to brag about except for the fact that you won. The 58 totally nullifies the 61. Now those whoppings that JSU put on you in Bham....those are something to brag about 40-0 and 38-11 in your HOME state.

MH: Reggie Brown TD is referred to as "The Catch". It was a fantastic grab from Ricky Jones to Reggie Brown. I believe Jerry Bartley has a framed copy of "the catch". I also saw a copy of it in the Montgomery Advertiser office before they moved to their new location. I will try to acquire a copy and post it. A memorable game indeed.

SU and Gram are not D2 schools that own us. ...and if anything I was telling all of you who sleep on JSU that we are JSU regardless of our record so you need to bring your A game. PERIOD.
