Hillary on her best day could only wish

Listening to The Michael Baisden show today and there was a lady that called in to share an experience she had at a Barack Obama rally.

She said while listening to Michelle Obama speak she notice a young lady (black in her teens) crying. She went over and give the young lady a tissue to wipe her face and ask if anything was wrong (thinking the worst).

The young lady said that no nothing was wrong but that she loved Michelle Obama and that she realizes that she can be whatever she wanted to be.
Holding the young lady as she trembles and continues to cry, she realizes that she was just touch in a special way.

After listening to that testimony I thought to myself, Hillary Clinton on her best day couldn?t even dream of having that type of an effect on a young black woman.

Who can Hillary have an effect like that on? Hillary is too shallow and clear. I can see right through her.

Hillary couldn't have that type of an effect on a young white woman. I won't sit here and say that Hillary is the worst candidate because that's not true but my thing is that you can have the greatest ideas in the world but if the people you're working with doesn't care for you how can your ideas past the congress. That's where I see the difference between her and Obama. I think that he can sit down and get all parties to work together and eventually get things going.
 
Honestly I had to take some deep breaths while listening to Obama in the Toyota Center a few weeks ago.
 
This is the type of thing that Obama could bring to the community without even doing a thing. He would stand as an example of what can be done. His wife as well. I have said to my wife many a time that I don't want to hear any black person saying ANYTHING about...

1. lack of black role models on TV
2. lack of blacks in anything else for that matter
3. lack of good black men

....if they did not vote for Obama. It would make no sense to beg our way into these things and then not take the opportunity to do this for ourselves.

It's just like in coaching.. if the players don't care for you..they are not going to play hard for ya.

Anyway Obama has White men voting for him; that shows how he can reach across different ethnic lines to get his point across.

The only beef I have though with some of our people is that they are using racsim for their reason for not voting for Hillary. Most of us on this board grew up here in the South and we have a feel for White people who are racists. I've watched Hillary here in Arkansas..she is light years away from being a racist. That is an unjust and ignorant characterization of her.


People should just say hey.."I feel comfortable with Obama and I feel his plan is best for the country" rather than making racial excuses for not voting for her.

I'm a fan of both Hillary and Obama..it's almost like my favorite aunt and uncle running for office. I have a sense of humor abut this primary though..you have too. If Obama win it(and he will according to the latest CNN exit polls) he will greatly have an influence on young Black males in this country in a time where a great positive Black role model is definitely needed. He will definitely and probably has already inspire some young Black males to read and practice on their articulation and the way they carry themselves.

But hey this a free country people should have the freedom to vote who they want without the fear of being ridicule of their choices.


Anyway, I'm enjoying living this very moment in history that future generations would envy just for a chance to experience of what we are experiencing today. Every I chance I get.. I right click on Obama and Hillary photos off the web just to have it on my computer for historical purposes. I even downloaded both Obama's and Hillary platforms off their websites. lol


I wish Obama would have came to Arkansas. Man I would taken a whole lot of photos. :cool:

So you're making an assumption that the majority in Congress, both Repubs and Dems, don't like Hilary but they some how love Obama. Thanks for letting those of us who live in the U.S. know that. Hilary has even teamed up with Newt Gingrich to get legislation passed. Yes, that Newt Gingrich who lead the impeachment of Bill. I guess nobody will work with her though.

The difference what you and so many other feminist don't get, when a young black girl says it, it actually reflects the reality that ANYONE can believe that, but when a young white girls says it the buck stops right there and there is no inclusion of anybody other then to pander to their constituents.

Obama supporters(myself included) are so psyched by him and what he represents that a win by Hillary would be a huge letdown for them.

Obama has won 13 in a row counting Vermont.
Win or lose, Obama has established himself as the star of the party from now on. :nod:

The letdown came a long time ago when HILLARY supporter's found out that the President's chair can't be given to her just because she said it would be so.

Obama can't be hurt by none of this even if by some stroke of luck, Hillary makes a comeback and actually win's the nod.
She was billed as invincable for some reason and that view of her is gone forever even in the eye's of her supporters.

This will only make OBAMA that much stronger for 2012 when I said he should really make a run IF HE DON'T GET THE NOD THIS TIME.
I say he will cause Hillary will not win both Texas and Ohio.

I agree with all you said, except I'm not so sure he can come back in 2012. 4 years is a very long time to wait as Al Gore learned in 04. Voters tend to move on to the next thing. The only reason McCain is around 8 years later is because he was the only suitable Republican left in a weak field.

My concern isn't Obama's talent, it's the fact that he seemed to really catch lightening in a bottle after his 04 speech to now. Between that, his successful stumping for Dems in the 06 mid-terms and having the perfect primary foil in Hillary(she basically makes his change argument just by being a former first lady), 08 was and may still be Obama's time. This is exactly why I was in favor of him running THIS YEAR. If he doesn't seize the nomination/presidency, I don't think he'll ever capture the moment agains like he has this year. Don't get me wrong, he'll still be relevant. But he won't be "it". Remember, a large part of his appeal is his few newness and lack of real ties to Washington. He won't have that going for him 4 years from now.

I'm confused. The young ladys dreams (black or white) will not be fulfilled until a women wins the presidency. Michelle Obama's are everywhere in the community, if you didn't notice. If it was a young black boy crying, I could see your point.

Also if you don't understand this country collaborated effort to always show a black man in a negative light and why, it really doesn't matter much. You're right you're confused and that's something that only you can come to an enlightenment on.

He doesn't have to win this Sonny, he never has mathematically she can get the vote... Period.

She has lost 12 states in a row and needed a win bad to justify why she's going to continue a losing cause.

I think the young lady was inspired by Mrs. Obama's speech. I guessing that she said something that said that you can be whatever you want to be if you put your mind to it. This is not what she said. This is what the young lady may have concluded. She also saw a strong black woman. You are right, there are several Michelle Obamas in the community. Maybe it took the speech of Mrs. Obama to inspire her. I don't know.
