but I'm listening to a radio station bash HBCUs reading those numbers cause they don't understand what they are reading - and people believe that

I agree....numbers can be skewed to fit a narrative.
Nope, it has nothing to do with the numbers being "skewed" to fit a narrative. The numbers are the numbers. The numbers don't lie; it's just the interpretation of the numbers varies from person to person. One person sees the numbers and comes to one conclusion. Another person who sees the same numbers can come up with a different conclusion.

Great info! HBCUs can learn from the business model of some of the playoff teams with lower or similar home attendance.

Comparing SU (tops in HBCUS) vs Montana State is interesting. Keep in mind, they finished 3 and 4 in home attendance and student fees/institutional support is similar.

That $5 million in donor contributions shole looks good to me.

yeah, HBCUs can surely do better in that area!
Please sir, indeed.

It requires intelligent folk to ensure that responsibility from top to bottom and for the most part, most don't have that type intelligence on campus right now. Exhibit "A" is Prairie View, shoddily ran by inept imbeciles over a duration, imho. PV is an up to date beautiful Ferrari powered by a 4-cyclinder Gremlin or Monza engine from 1974 w/ its "admins."

For years, and still, to this day, there has been a belief that HBCU alumni don't give back to HBCUs. That is not true. The truth of the matter is that HBCUs don't do a very good job of fundraising. Some do it better than others, but I'm of the belief that HBCUs leave a lot to be desired when it comes to fundraising.

THAT PART

that same alum will drop $50 on a stuffed turkey leg and a $25 dollar drink and get into a $50K car while living in a $300k house will complain about a $100 season ticket

the white counterpart will eat cheaper, buy a 12-pack of beer and get into $80K truck they'll drive into the ground and tell you the season ticke is too cheap and you need to raise prices while buying 3

Don’t start that

So are you saying the budget numbers are correct now after all these years of you saying the numbers were made up 😂😂😂😂😂.
Im definitely NOT...lol
BUT what I recall is that when I asked YOU to do some calculations and let me know if they make sense for SUx, you never replied back because Im sure at THAT moment, you realized THOSE numbers were bullschitt.

Also, when it comes to those numbers, there are too many variables to compare one school to the next when it comes to BUDGET. For the most part, I still dont think HBCUs really have a budget. They just try to do what they can by spending as little as they can.

MOST of it is some people just dont know to read a table/data nor are they capable of asking the right questions about the data.
