Henry Frazier's lasts season at PV

It'd be a helluva' game. Those guys @ ET are damned near D-I already. lol They take their offseason strength and conditioning program pretty seriously. And they reload. Never seen anything like it until I mixed it up for a few w/ SLC.

Speaking of... I wonder what Dodge is gonna' do now? :read: FM-Marcus? :read: Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.... :swink:

I would think FM. Marcus is doing will with DJ qb'n. Actually, both FM teams are doing quite well. Ryan has been quiet. Birdville, Colleyville Heritage, and Brewer could use him but you know how high schools keep coaches that are kid friendly but not winning.

Bower and Leach are the wants.

Put this thread to rest. Straight from one of the head horse's mouth. :)

They can't afford Leach......

He's looking for a bigger place to be, word has it that Minnesota got him on their radar.

True. But I have a strange feeling that one of these guys that are really serious about getting to the next level (elite status) will go after him. It would be neat to see him and Hal across the field from each other, w/ the same style of play, etc.

For them to realistically think they have a chance @ him, I think they were going to offer some type of financially rewarding pkg. They brought on 3 asst positions w/in the last 1.5 yrs where it's written in their position profile that they raise $$$$ (donations) to the athl dept. :read: And these are proven ppl from other schools that were hired in.

I think they're semi-serious w/ TRYING to be one of the top dogs in the metroplex D-I level. :read:

I would look at going after a FCS coach. Montana, App State, SD State have good programs.

Those would be good hires. I don't think Frazier has done enough at PV to even be a top candidate at a top 1-AA school. I could see Frazier turning down the Howard job. Those people don't care about football but I could see him giving A&T some consideration.

Yep, you are right Frat. It's been all over the news here in Minneapolis. They have him high on their list and they have money to spend.

UNT is a very strange school, IMO. (athletically) The prezo is somewhat disconnected and recvs input from the AD that he actually considers. :read: I think they understand they NEED some color on that "staff" if they are to recruit, as required, head to head w/ ou/ut-austin/michigan/et al BCSers w/ regards to recruits from the dfw metroplex. It wasn't a "nice' breakup w/ Simon and crew and I really think there was some inner-blackballing going on w/ former Simon staff and UNT amidst the black coaches frat. :read:

How many times have an offer come up for frazier in the last five years?

He ain't going no where, he's just working the system.

Do yall really think frazier is a good coach? Really?
What is GR missing about frazier that the rest of you see?
It took him 6 years to win the swac. Had he been at any other swac school he woulda been fired. He was lucky enough to get a job where winning wasn't important for years. And be lucky enough to find a job that decided to invest in football when he got there. So it just looks like he out performed previous coaches. If I were an AD I wouldn't hire him from the job he did at pv

GR,
He did have to sell kids coming to PV after the history they had. Wasn't like he was hired at JSU, Gram, SU etc that had some recent success with head coaches winning the SWAC in the last 10-20 years to attract the type of kids he needed to win the SWAC. Then you have to consider what facilities he has to deal with and the fact that PV just started giving out their full allotment of scholarships. I will at least give him credit for being to do something no other PV coach has been able to do since the 60s. His job was tougher than what Pete had coming into SU. The only difference with Frazier that I agree with. Had he come to our schools and not won the SWAC within a certain time, he would have been fired. But none of our schools endured the losing streak and public stigma that PV did. Now what will tell us really how good of coach he is......will be his ability to stay at the top. That will define his legacy as a Head Coach. It is much easier getting to the top than to stay there when everybody comes to play you like it's their championship game. We will see how he transitions with new players and such as time goes on if he indeed stays at PV.

Also, Frazier will be without Northern who put him on the map....
I don't know about this statement.... Frazier was hired on at PV for what he did at Bowie State where Northern was not with him... So Heish didn't make Frazier, if anything Frazier gave Heish an opportunity to showcase his potential that was developed under Doug at Grambling.

Frazier was given the chance to start from the ground up and offer a lot of scholarships off the bat. He let those kids grow with the program. He has not really had to reload yet. Let's see how this goes....

Since Frazier's arrival in the SWAC he has the 2nd highest winning percentage of all programs. He has won 64% of his games with the guys HE recruited, starting in 2005. That is only 2nd behind Grambling. Are you guys (JSU fans) that bitter and naive?

I'll answer for them. Yes, they are very naive and obviously kinda' salty since relegating their former "top" spot lol.

So you only counting the decent years huh?

They tried to get Tony Dunghy and he declined but offered to help in thier search for a new coach. You got a Superbowl winning coach helping you-the line starts to the left.

As for North Texas-they might as well go after Frazier. They already got a black basketball coach that took that program out of the dumps.
Dodge's fate was sealed when he got accused of being racist and they never recovered. They had a coach that had 2 off years and ran him off for Dodge, who gave them 4 bad years.
I mean who else would want that job? Wade Phillips? I mean the key to winning at NT is win OOC games and few conference games. Darrell Dickey went to 4 straight bowl games with a horrible OOC win/loss record.

Frazier has done an excellent job at PV. North Texas would be stupid not to go after him. I do not think he would leave for the salary Dodge was making.

Frazier at JSU, SU or GU would not have taken 5 years to win a Championship. I think he made progess every year.

Good points East Tex. I haven't seen you on the board in awhile.
