Wasn't Shaq a top 50 player??????? I never said MJ won titles ALONE (GR likes to embellish statements), I said Kobe had THE MOST DOMINANT CENTER IN THE LEAGUE IN 2000, 2001 & 2002 and won 3 rings. I know Ho Grant, Pippen, Paxson/Kerr/Hodges were all good players in their own right. But NONE was as dominant as SHAQ was on those 3 Laker teams. Like I said, the best POST PLAYER that MJ won a ring with was BISON DELE.... And he wasn't top 50......Get Ready said:

The Lakers had Kobe and Shaq. The other players couldnt make a damn shot unless they were wiiiiide open. Fisher got hot every 4 games, and clumbsy ass Robert Horry waited around the 3 point line for the ball to be tapped out to him. Vanessa Williams husband was a good defensive player til he hurt his ankle. Devin George is still useless. he musta made a deal with the devil to get where he is. So the Lakers had 2 players and no real role players.
When Karl (I asked your wife for some ass) Malone got hurt right before the finals with Detroit, and the refs let the Pistons use a wrestling style defense, it was obvious that the Lakers needed to open up the offense and free up some money...therefore they let The Big Ashy go.

I already agreed in previous threads that Kobe was one of the main reasons LA won 3 rings. He just wasn't THE MAIN REASON. I agree that the rest of those LA teams were not really that good (but how good do you have to be to play with 2 guys that demand a double team????). Kobe benefitted a lot from Shaq getting doubled in the post. MJ never had that luxury (when was the last time anyone doubled Pippen????? Maybe when MJ left in '94 and '95). He!!, MJ was usually in the post himself. MJ was the main focus of everyone's defensive strategy in the playoffs. Kobe was not (albiet he was a CLOSE second behind Shaq).
I agree that Kobe is ONE OF THE BEST PLAYERS TO EVER PLAY THE GAME. I just can't call him the best ever, yet.

Shaq couldnt win a championship with the best player in the league by his side (at the time), Anfernee Hardaway, during a period when Jordan was serving the suspension, yet Kobe has only been in the league, ONE, count them, ONE (injured coachless)year without Shaq, yet he is the one that cant win the title. Go figure.
