Its almost like back in the slave days. When some slaves talked bad about other slaves who wanted to learn to read, or even today when some of us talk bad about others who speak proper english. They say they think they white, or call them uncle toms. and thats sad. It aint about being white. its about trying to be ALL we can be. and in this day and age, being the BCF champ isnt ALL we can be. back then it was. Now it is not. but some people cant let the past go.

hey buddy..got some news for you too....that 1 swac title you have? will likely be the last one you'll ever see. so before you worry about us, take care of your own business. win your own conference first. till then, take our sloppy 2nd president and keep it movin.....
 
looking at the money that has been and is being given to our program, and how it has increased every year since pough got here, I would say its probably more than your cut of the SWAC championship....but like I said.....yall do you...we'll do us....its all good....we do not have to do everything the same....yall got your way, we got ours. Our record, conference titles, increased revenue, and attendance, say that our way works for us. if your way works for you, then we are all winners...

So should High Schools stop competing for the State Championships? Its the same thing the SWAC does except for football we go to B-HAM where we are told, The particpating Schools dont split the Pot, nor do we even know what is made off the game. We do know that the NCAA gives money back to each member school for scholarships and such.
And Montana AD said that to get people to feed into going into the FCS, if it was so Bad they would Turn the bids down, but the Playoffs is just like putting your daughter in a Pageant, sending your son to Camp, Just like paying for your kid to go to college in hopes that they will get a great job, etc... You paying in hopes that your team, son, daughter will be the best.

In all sincerity, it ain't about yall being "Toms" (actually, Uncle Tom was a noble character in that story...but I digress). I have no problem with yall wanting to participate in the Playoffs...I would be in favor or Grambling participating also EXCEPT that I think the NCAA screws all of FCS with their "bid" process. That's why the BCS was formed...those schools refused to allow the NCAA control their paycheck and pimp them for money.

It would be interesting to see what approach Delaware and App State (and their conferences) would take with a similar offer from ESPN?

Aint it the same thing the SWAC office is doing with the SWAC championship? Havent heard a payout from the Game yet...

But this tread isnt about this its about Jackson State sitting at home when they should be playing...
I dont understand, yall sit around talking about they disrespecting us by not puttting people on the awards, but dont think that our players desreve a shot on the field to prove that they deserve respect? you know J state and the White ghost winning in the playoffs only proves that Warren and the rest of our players are just as good...

1. Attempting to <b>dictate</b> where we should play OUR home game w/ them (since it was our turn):: strongly recommended "Reliant" which includes "Reliant" $$$$ upfront. :)
2. "Nothing to gain by playing them; they offer us nothing." - those are the words a PV employee used. :)

Outside of that, I'm not aware and I don't think we're "cowardly." The SLC will know us SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON enough, again. :wavey: :read: :tup:

the high schools dont make the money off the gate in the playoffs, it goes to the state... So intern your high school is paying to be the state champs
 
Good for yall Panth... remember that the next time you accuse others in the conference of not wanting to play outside competition from other FCS conferences.


Stroke... I have no problem with them eliminating the SCG. But what our conference should do is petition for the right to have the option of having 12 regular season games. Since the NCAA EXCLUDES us from their playoffs, we should look after our own interests (like they do)

How its the same thing, basicly paying to be the best, hoping the outcome will be well worth the investment...
And the NCAA gives money back to each school, they even pay for athletes to finish there education once the Athletic department cant anymore.

Like SC state Alum said, you have indirect revenue from the playoffs, and Bowl games... Grambling hasnt has indirect revanue yet from playing in the SWAC championship, nor no one on this board know what we make off the game, Now thats pimping..

Yes the SCG schools and bands travel, stay and eat at no cost to the schools.

I don't think that's true... I think the state gets the "surcharge" (ticket prices go from $5 regular season to $9 for the playoffs). Plus the High school gets to keep their concession sales.
