Not a bad choice, but judging by some of the responses in the other threads, nobody has the stomach to hire a white coach. Nevermind the fact that every last one of our schools has white students and staff.

We are still afraid to get what we want out of folks who owe us, I guess

I wouldn't mind your offensive line/offensive coordinator at all. That dude is one of the most slept on coaches at our HBCUs and I don't know why. Nearly everywhere he's been there has been success. One of these days he'll get his shot. I don't think it will be us though.

Rod Reed is in a lame duck season @ TNSU...

He has TX roots & and a winning percentage against SWAC schools...

He would do great at TXSU and already recruits the Dallas & Houston regions...

Ron Prince, former Kansas State head coach and current Michigan assistant, will be tabbed to lead the program according to FootballScoop.com.

Prince led Kansas State to a 17-20 record from 2006 through 2008. He most recently served as an offensive analyst for Michigan under Jim Harbaugh after coming from the Detroit Lions where he served in various roles from 2014 through 2017. A graduate of Appalchian State, Prince has previously served in both the MEAC (South Carolina State) and SWAC (Alabama A&M) as an offensive line coach back in the early 1990s.

The only plausible explanation I can see is them not wanting to pay a D2 coach a D1 salary next year

Now if they struggle in D2 for a few years as well then it's an admin problem because they have been making these moves for the past few years. They have a former baseball player that made it to the majors in September and he pretty much said the same thing (all these money games yet still struggling and going D2)

JSU and especially sTu seriously missed out on a qualified hire smgdh. Perhaps Carthel couldn’t fathom w/ putting up w/ trash bullshit and unprofessionalism evident at certain campuses in their athl-admin systems, who knows...

anyone know what’s going on with SSU Head Coach search? I wonder if they can be like Winston Salem State when they dropped down from FCS to D2. Now I hope they fully fund the 36 scholarships since they was working on a D2 budget anyways.
 
have anybody got any updates on Savannah State, Kentucky State and Morgan State? I know those schools have to recruit and sign players.
 
That’s the problem with some HBCU’s they wait until the 13th hour to hire somebody then wanna hold them accountable. Savannah State should be a interesting job because they have FCS players on a team that’s dropping to D2. Kentucky State idk what to say about them and Morgan State is signing players midyear with a staff that might not be there in a few weeks I would’ve thought Bowie State’s coach would’ve gotten a call but he probably turned them down.
 
ssu should have never went D1 in the first place.

they arent a bigger brand that Morehouse, Clark, Albany St or FVSU and they thought they were big time smh

I agree and they should be able to compete with dropping back down. I would hope they would be fully funded with 36 scholarships and enough full time coaches. They have a decent stadium and should be able to get transfers from the Carolina schools.
