HBCU Football On Television

Football Saturday and two of our classics are not televised today. The Circle City Class and the Grambling/Prairie View game. I know ESPN has the rights, but can we have another way of having our games that we want to see most televised. It was a shame that the Southern States Hertiage Classic was not televised either and that is usually televised by Fox Sports.

I think the SWAC office should have some live stream broadcasts to fill in the gap. As of now, the Southern/Alcorn game is not scheduled as an ESPN game....

The CCC was televised last year but once it wasn’t selected this year its up to the promoter to make that call and that means extra $$$$$$ for an event that (in their mind) can hurt the bottom line as TV ain’t cheap. A live stream at best would work.

The SFC was last seen on TV back in 2010 with the last live stream in 2015. Again promoter’s decision.

What’s odd is that espn will never show the games live on a Saturday anyway as it would be on a tape delayed basis which works for all but go figure.

Cannot believe that. That should have been one of the first SWAC Games to be televised!
