Dude, southern didn't win an outright SWAC title in 32 years after JSU and Grambling entered the SWAC. Yall went from the '60's to the '90's before winning an outright title under the great Pete.
What team does that and calls themselves a football school?
Both JSU and Grambling have more NFL players and Hall of Famers than southern will ever have. That's what people remember.
But getting back to those 30 something years of southern not winning an outright SWAC title. WOW!!!

You do know SU's two Hall of Famers Mel Blount and Aeneas Williams didn't play for Mumford nor Pete Richardson. And thanks to Eddie Robinson, I'm sure if the NFL would have started drafted players from HBCUs before 1962 (the year Coach Mumford died), SU would have had a ton of NFL Hall of Famers. JSU's two HOF'ers Walter Payton and Jackie Slater were very thankful of Eddie Robinson for allowing them a chance to play in the NFL. As always, JSU piggybacking on someone else's success. So stop pretending to be an elite trailblazer.

First of all, JSU has four Hall of Famers. Second, we can't go by "what-ifs". We can only go by "what-is".
Third, your school went 32 years without an outright SWAC title. You can't go three decades without winning an outright title and call yourself an elite football program.
JSU and Grambling are the ONLY SWAC schools to win at least one SWAC title in every decade since the "60's. That's called remaining relevant for half a century.
And how is JSU piggy-backing off anyone's success when we made our own mark in football history? Come on man.

We have not ran the Air Raid since 2011. Chang ran a variation of the run n shoot but not the Air Raid (just components). We ran the Air Raid in 2010 and 2011 under E Wilson. Furthermore Mumme created this offense while Hal Jackson brought in Chang with no OC experience (graduate assistant) so those situations are totally different.

They've been a joke even when they thought they were good. LOL Comparing themselves to Grambling is even a bigger joke. Those dummies are trailing the series against Grambling 45-24-1. They basically play the role as the Washington Generals to the Harlem Globetrotters in football to Grambling....LMAO!!! Hell Grambling has 15 black college football national championships and jsu has 3. LOL

jsu is the football program that will infinitely be known for coming up short when it counts. Despite PV being without scholarships for many years, they still have more BCF National titles and tradition than jsu. You can always count on them to come up short when it's all on the line. Alcorn wins when it's on the line and have more national championship pedigree than jsu. Basically they are a program that one steps on to reach greatness. Even in the 80's when they thought they were good they played 2nd fiddle to Central State.

Y’all killing Jac St. it’s crazy, letting Comegy go ruined the program for good. He is a legend and I didn’t like the way he ended. I would’ve just stop coaching after getting the boot from them. People don’t realize that if you a legend you can ruin your career by continuing to coach at second fiddle schools. Everything after Comegy has been a joke and that normally happens to all the schools that get rid of legends.

And Black College Titles are fictitious any how. Several years D2 schools won the title when JSU sent 15 players to the NFL and dominated the SWAC.
The only reason JSU didn't get several of those titles is due to the fact that we lost in the playoffs during the last game of the season. You lose your last game, you don't get a title.
Some schools avoided the playoffs by the way. Hint, hint.
Yall know good and well that JSU had the best team in HBCU football most of the 80's and the early part of the '90s. That's at least 9 or 10 BCF titles JSU was never given due to the playoffs. Don't play dumb.

I think if you're on a 2-year deal, that automatically means your seat is hot. DHE has to win and now. If he starts 0-6, 0-7 it's over. If he can beat tuskegee, kennesaw state, be respectable for a half against auburn, and be in the game/beat south alabama he's got new life.

If Bama State can keep that decent defense and improve on offense, they might be on to something. Same with JSU.
I look for the East to be more competitive between JSU, Alcorn and Bama State.

I have been the biggest fan of the hiring of Haywood on the board. I am going to stick to believing the man is a very good coach. I saw promise in year 1 as y’all were 1 TD away from winning 7-8 games. Last year, y’all were young and had some things falling off track, but I feel that year 3 will answer my questions. I also expect former Brantley to make some noise at the QB position. I would have liked to see him at Grambling, but I wish him well at sTu. He is a very nice kid and is a brainiac.

Y’all just don’t know how bad I want Haywood to turn things around. The last thing I need is to be wrong about a bold prediction to my homie JSU homie TP! Lol. I am looking forward to telling y’all sTu folks “I told y’all so” after Haywood shows what he is about.
