Sadly until SWAC alums start supporting basketball like football, it's a reality

It has to be a balance. You can play 4-5 P4 games and get $500k-$600k while playing some low mid-majors. I've made it known how I HATE Valley doing the gauntlet in the OOC for $$$. And if you get the wrong coach, it's basically slaughter after slaughter. The team really doesn't get confident they can win until conference play and gotta learn how to win

Gram gave her that balance with 5 p4 games ( Lville, LSU, Cal , Arizona & Oregon State) & then Nicholls , Tulane , Tulsa, & smaller schools like Xavier , Centenary & Arkansas Baptist. Did she not do her homework & Understand that the SWAC takes money games to support non revenue sports like hers? ( even LSU womens loses millions per year ). Then she whined, talked down to us & reminded us that she played at Louisville, her players aren't your typical " SWAC players" & she doesn't care if she ever plays schools like LSU again. A whining Coach who doesn't believe that I can compete can kill my confidence more than a couple beat downs.


She should have worked her way up as an assistant at those schools like Louisville & gotten a P4 HC job if the SWAC is beneath her standards. I can't fully support what she's saying . We may as well give up our tournament auto bids if we are afraid to compete? She is part of the reason that Im wary of arrogant ex p4 players
 
It only took 3 minutes into the game to mention PV taking a check to play UCLA. They love to make that point every time. Yet didn't hear that with Saint Francis vs Maryland.

Schools do it but only HBCUs get singled out.

Our lady Bulldogs are now 6-3. With Vanderbilt, Tulane and Central Arkansas left for OOC games. If they take one of those it will give them a winning OOC schedule first time on years.

it will be the first time ever since we moved to the SWAC if I'm not mistaken ..Coach Thornton is writing AAMU history..she put on a master class tonight vs those UNA peepas across the way lol!

Hornets got a big win last night beating TN Martin in OT 103-93. I like the new style of play relying on 3 points shooting. If they continue to play at this level and get Madlock back, I think they’ll compete for the title.

They've proved they can score but they are getting beat on the glass every night. They do look a lit better than last season though.

They play Norfolk State on ESPNU at 4 PM. This game may be a more accurate gauge of the Hornets improvement and their upcoming conference play.
 
Valley lost big but at least they got McKnight back after missing 3 games so they should be competitive in conference play (although we are definitely down 2 (no longer on team) and maybe an 3rd who went down against TAMU)
