Don't see How he didn't get that call, crazy... But you gotta know you not getting a call, gotta make that last Free throw, then you have to set up for the Charge

With 17.2, left, why not drive and see if you can get to the rim for an old fashioned 3? If the close down then you like would have Rodgers or someone already set up on the 3 pt line.
 
Good game but a lot of home cooking Southern loses by five...I'm guessing about 40 of Memphis 72 points came from the free throw line....smh & lol
 
Just made it home from the game. We let one slip away, but we were pretty spent at the end. It was a fairly ugly game for both teams. The officiating definitely turned in the second half, but we didn't help matters by committing some really silly fouls. Regardless, it's not an issue if we don't miss a ton of shots at the rim, including a number of poorly executed fast breaks. We would also get more open looks if our bigs would look to kick it back out to the perimeter. I also wish we would've taken a timeout to draw up a better play at the end.

Sam was an absolute monster tonight, the best player on the court despite going up against several high rated recruits. If we can get some consistent post play to match our perimeter game, we would have all the ingredients to be a really good team.
 
KJ Lawson leads Memphis past Southern
MEMPHIS, Tenn. — KJ Lawson scored 15 of his 16 points in the second half as Memphis came from behind to defeat Southern 72-67 Tuesday night in FedExForum.


The Tigers won their fifth game in a row to improve to 7-2. The Jaguars fell to 7-3 heading into a game against Louisiana Tech on Friday in Ruston.

Memphis, which is second in the country in highest percentage of points coming from the free-throw line, enjoyed a big edge at the foul line. The Tigers, who average scoring 27.8 percent of their points on free throws, scored 33 percent at the line despite making just 67 percent of their foul shots (28-of-42). Southern made 12-of-16.

Three Jaguars — D’Adrian Allen, Shawn Prudhomme and Tony Nunn — fouled out and Southern committed 31 fouls, compared to 17 for Memphis. One Tiger — Goodwin – fouled out.
