HBCU Baseball/Softball Scores 3/17 to 3/31

Not against a D-2. Now JSU win vs SLU is quality.

Delta State started off the season as the #1 team in D2

They slipped to #2 a couple of weeks ago and are currently 19-4. They could probably beat half the teams in the SWAC in a 3 game series. Right now, JSU, Alabama State and Texas Southern (maybe Grambling this year) would be the only teams that would probably beat them in a series

So the NCAA will count that as a quality win for post-season seeding?

I didn't say anything about NCAA. I am not being it off the NCAA Perspective. You looking too much in it. The caliber of team DSU is and traditionally have been combined with Valley trying to take their team to that level. I am very familiar with their program. Very good win.

Most know Delta State has good athletic programs. Baseball and Football have been on the up for a while. And their baseball team and facility is better than some SWAC schools. However, when it comes to being D1, defeating a lower division team is no cause for a good win....even though they are Delta State. Even when SU has defeated Loyola-NO in the past, it wasn't considered a good win by D1 standards.

It is a good win against a good opponent. But overall, J-State win against a SLC team is better. Congrats to both MS SWAC schools for their win and let's not forget about PV's victory over SFA.
