Well it's FAT Tuesday and since I can't be in the thick
of things in New Orleans (Real Mardi Gras not some
Galveston knock off) I thought it would be nice to have
a little virtual parade.

Zulu rides on Mardi Gras every year. 8:30 a.m. is the OFFICIAL start time, but they usually don't start until 10:00 a.m.!!! The Zulu "all day festival" is on Monday.

p.s.
As we speak I'm making probably the best Gumbo on the face of the planet...well in Houston any way (I know my grandmother is making it in Louisiana so we have two states on lockdown) later I'm going to fry some alligator for our appetizer (even though I know my husband won't touch it).

By the way, I did get a hold of a king cake yesterday.
My grandmother sent it Fed EX so I wouldn't miss
out on the family tradition. We haven't found the
bambino yet but we're working on it. You gotta
love family. My gumbo was the bomb, I just made
waaaaay too much(We had to freeze it).
