Halftime for the Bayou Classic- whats your call

As usual....NBC drops the ball on halftime....
Yet they keep on hyping it up every year......

NBC messed up the SU drum major intro....
I really can not understand cause both bands normally are in the Superdome at 8am for final practice and NBC watches them as they go over each show with them........


White Tux for Grambling and Black for the Drum Majors............
Cut off by NBC on Gramblings Dance routine.....:angry:


I like the fact that NBC is covering the game......
But Gee WHIZ!!!!! Can we get more BAND TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BTW, if you wanna see the whole halftime, you have 2 options. Go to the game, or pay NBC to run the whole thing.

I have made a AFTERMATH topic the morning before I went to a game........

Once again...Since you KNOW everything....
You dropped the ball....

anyway......screw NBC ....pay them for what!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude, what are you going off on me for? I'm telling you what has ALWAYS been. When Fox Sports aired HBCU games, they aired halftime from start to finish. Why? Because a corporate sponsor (I believe it was Dodge when we were on there) PAID the network to air the whole thing. TV time is about MONEY. If nobody is PAYING the network to air it all, they will CONTINUE to cut away at the dance routine of the 1st show and about halfway through the 2nd to send it to commercial and to the sports desk.

They hype up halftime EVERY year, and EVERY year the same thing happens. Now granted, this year's band coverage (of what they DID show) was not good (I'd rather see moving dancers than people standing still playing the instruments). But other than that, it is not outside the norm.

Which all leads back to my statement at the beginning. I dunno if you saw it as a smack on you or not, but I was being dead serious. The only 2 options you have to see the whole show are to either GO TO THE GAME or PAY NBC TO AIR THE WHOLE THING.

Actually, there is a 3rd option, which the rest of us do quite well.

3) STFU about what we don't have direct control over.

Go boycott NBC if you're that mad about it....*shrug*

I'm not the one crying about it. I know if I wanted to see the whole show, I coulda either gone to the game or paid NBC. Since I did neither, I settled for what I got. I see you conveniently skipped over the stuff you can't seem to comprehend to get to the one thing you have heard more timers in life than anything else....STFU

Based on the NBC coverage, I was impressed with both drills. Both seemed well thought out and executed. I wasn't a fan of the white tux's when they did it back in the day, and I wasn't today. It affected their marching a bit, but overall, they did well. I can't say who WON halftime based on what I saw.

I was going to say the same exact thing. SU's field shows have gone to another level since Greggs retired. Im not one to watch and memorize every SU field show, but the one today was one of the best I have seen from SU. Now the Dolls routine/dudes was boring and should have been left out....also the Dolls selection process has to be much easier now. I remember when the dolls could actually dance and do the stunts. You had legs dropping and girls almost falling on the field.

GSU REALLY surprised me with their drill. They usually put some BS on the field during the drill section of the show, but this drill was well planned and executed.

My thing is why in the hell would you get on National TV and take your "G" away.......people just turning on the tube would have said who in the Hell is this wiggling and pulling a drum on my TV.......you are there to rep your school and your organization.......and by the way....that tux crap was Bush back then and it was Bush Saturday......just looks wack......looked like rented court jestures......If Mr. Jackson at SU ever....ever.....ever....has a notion to do something as country as that.....then just charge me now cause I will slap him personally........but I probably will have to stand in a long line to do so.......anyway Gram.....you all really took several steps back on this one......

Here's my opinion on the tuxedo's:

I didn't really think it was a bad idea. I mean, it was over 53,000 people in the dome, and all of them are not band experts. They just want to be entertained. Coming out of the tunnel marching in the tuxes got peoples attention and entertained them. Plain and simple. I tell you this, when they came out, I heard the crowd screaming and giving them a standing "O". I was in Section 305 (which was 90% SU) and they clapping for GSU when they came out. Quote from one lady who is an SU grad, "Grambling 'did' that. I gotta give it to them."

As for GSU's show, I didn't particularly care for it until they brought out all the special guests. But hey, it was done to entertain the crowd and get them hype. And guess what..........that's what it did.

Grambling did a outstanding job....
But some of these people are always giving Grambling a hard time NO MATTER what............

Hate on Grambling is something...plain and simple.......................

Grambling is just like any other band...

well i thank all the people that hate on GSu and those that love us. Those that are hatini are the ones that was like dayumn they got in our arses today man look at the WHOLE stadium rise and clap for them. GSU *****ed SU on the field and thats that. Sucks drill was not all that either, heck the show wasnt that tight either. its messed up that they showed like 80% of SUcks shoe but like 20% of ours. that why the ratings for people voting was how it was. my sista told me that thy showed SU dancin or somethin but only showed our drill. thats why they said Su's was better than GSU field show. if you were in attendance you know the deal and how that wet both nights. then at the BOTB the little voting thing had already started b4 Gsu even came in and played, so right there it was already messed up.
