Hail to the ACC!

Looking forward to it. Clemson is our permanent opponent from the Atlantic division of the ACC, so my Jackets are battle tested each year. Moving to a pro style offense, therefore we should be able to get the blue chip athletes like Calvin Johnson, Morgan Burnett, etc. to return to North Avenue.

He might not after this. He has won 2 ships and may win a 3rd. He is the MAN in Clemson SC. Why go replace Saban when he retires. Now of course them Bama boosters going to offer to buy him anything and everything. So it will be only to say he coached his Alma Mater where he won a Championship as a Player. It would have to be personal to him. Otherwise. I think him staying at Clemson is the most likely. Not like he can't win there.

I agree as money or nostalgia or both would be the only reason to leave. As a coach, he can never overcome whatalready has been done. However, you know ain’t nothing like going home. Clemson, in all its glory, can never match the storied legacy of Bama much like a certain school in North Baton Rouge as compared to Icon Gram. This is a big reason to stay as his legacy would be the face of Clemson much like Coach Rob and the Bear at Gram and Bama, respectively.

The SEC is not by far a stronger nothing. They have one or two top teams like everybody else.
Who's the other strong team in the ACC?

#2 Alabama, #8 Georgia, #6 Florida, #7 LSU, #16 Texas A&M, and even #11 Kentucky say different. Outside of Clemson and maybe Syracuse, who else did the ACC have that was even close to decent?

But the North Baton Rouge School owns Grambling in the head-to-head series.......

SEC haters always say that but yet I bet you can't back it up with who's the better conference. It ain't the ACC........the have ONE.........ONE strong team. Big 10, Ohio State and Michigan. Big 12, Texas and OU. I don't even follow the Pac 10 so who knows. It's perfectly ok to disagree but please provide some info to support your "who's better" opinion.

those rankings mean nothing. I sat in tiger stadium and watched lsu wrestle with la tech like they were top 25.

Man get out of here with this tough ACC mess. The ACC had 2 teams worth a damn as always. Clemson was the only team to make it to a New Years game. NC State, your next best team was blown out by Texas A&M 52-13. Take Clemson out of that conference and they're buns.

It means a lot when that same Texas A&M team treated the ACC's 2nd best team like a rag doll. 52-13 in a bowl game? I mean lets be real lol...there isnt shit else in the ACC besides Clemson. Florida State sorry now, Virginia Tech sorry now, NC State proved they were a fraud, Miami sorry, the rest were 7 win teams at best. Syracuse is the only other team in the conference that looked decent. Who else is there???? Boston College??? Duke??? North Carolina??? Let's not make silly arguments when its obvious to see the truth. The only conference the ACC is better than right now is the Pac 12. No one with ANY type of sense would put them over the Big10, Big 12 or SEC.

I'm not arguing ACC supremacy over anyone. What I'm saying is that the SEC ain't king of anything and they have been a 1 team league for a decade other than Auburn & Georgia making an occasional appearance. In the last 10 years alabama & auburn have one national championships. in the last 10 years clemson and florida state have won national championships.
Last you won't catch me advocating for their schools under almost any circumstance. I do rep Univ Tn Med school b/c I went there for a bit and it's a good school that is trying to shake the fact that they didn't admit Africans or their descendants for 100 years. My favorite FBS team? anyone playing alabama. That's why even as an alcornite, if jackson state ever gets it together and moves up, I'll drive from south carolina at least once a year to go to a game, and I'll rep jackson state so hard you'd think I went to school there. I want to root for one of our schools on that level and I have no love, even as a passing interest in their institutions.

The fact is the ACC had a better bowl record than the SEC. If there was a 10-run rule in football, it would have been used in the national championship game as the ACC champion Clemson beat a Bama team, where every pundit in America claimed this was the best team in Crimson Tide history.

What teams in the SEC is a worth a damn when the SEC’s conference champion was beaten into submission by the ACC champion? SEC’s credibility is shot after this debacle of a loss by its crown jewel. Clemson had to take a knee not to score 50pts on Bama, which would have been 37-0 run. You mention Texas A&M, but the Aggies lost to South Carolina, who Virginia beat 28-0.

If the SEC’s second best team in UGA plays Texas ten times, Texas would win all ten. BTW, Syracuse manhandled West Virginia, where TX struggled. LSU is doing cartwheels for beating UCF. LSU would finish about the same if in the ACC Coastal division.
The game is about matchups, where the ACC can more than hold its own against in the SEC. This has been proven in head to head matchups over the years.

Those over-rated teams get ranked high because they are in the SEC.

Granted the ACC is down right now (yet the reigning champs!) but when our programs are strong, they are a force.. and Syracuse is NOT in that group. Clemson, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Virginia Tech, and Miami are all sleeping giants!

...and the SEC got dumber players. They play off talent and cant compete when the other team has talent and the coach knows his Xs and Os.

Georgia Tech been sleep for a while. lol

Texas A&M was just in its first year with Jimbo, you know the one that dominated ACC before finally getting out of the dumpster known as Tallahassee. Florida was just in year one with Dan Mullen as the head coach (they bout to take over the state of Florida). I agree LSU is overrated. Kentucky is just a well-coached team with a great defense and run game (a watered-down version of the Saban Bama teams from a few seasons ago). Alabama and Georgia definitely aren't overrated.

Comparisons of how a team played against another team means nothing. Clemson beat A&M by 2 points, Bama beat them by 20+. We see how that played out. That same UCF team that LSU was doing cartwheels for beat your ACC runner-up by 31 points. Notre Dame beat Michigan by 1 point, the same team that Florida stomped 41-15. I guess Florida should have been in the playoffs using your logic.

The ACC runner-up finished 7-7 on the season. lol

Almost every conference in the last 10 years has had 1-2 top teams. The point is........3-5 or 3-6 has typically been stronger in the SEC over the last 15 years or so.....give or take a down year here or there.. Since 1998, the SEC is 234-191 over power 5 conferences. This year was not as strong. Every conference has down years, some most than others. Yes Bama has carried the flag for the last 6-7 years but go beyond that.

We aint been sleep that long. Just won 9 games year before last and beat the brakes off the SEC and Dak Prescott in the Orange Bowl. But Tech is Tech. We cant recruit dumb players. We excel with what we have. We wont lower our standards.

I strongly disagree. Once you leave the top 1 or 2 in the SEC, the rest just like everybody else.

This year yeah. And we all know a conference can drop easily. Look at the big 12, for the most part it's been Oklahoma since 2005. We're talking overall for the last 10-15 years. No other conference has been tougher to play in. Not by some ridiculous WIDE margin. BIg 12 to me was stronger last year and in other years. BIg 12 and SEC have mainly been th

ok well I showed you the record over the years since 1998. The SEC is not unbeatable.......just simply saying over the years it has been the toughest road to get through once you drop past the top 1 or 2 teams. Get past Texas or OU.........they have no one that scares me......get past MIchigan and Ohio State.......Wisconsin or Mi State MIGHT give you a game.........Pac 12.....nope.........ACC, some years yes, when Florida State is good and of course Clemson is top notch....after that.......not really scared of I don't know.........Virginia Tech? Duke? Syracuse?. Over the years, no way. I got SEC and BIg 10 as the toughest and easiest to get upset by a 3-5 ranked conference team.
