Actually, Losman is a more all around threat than Ramsey. Plus, I don't think SU can stop Mewelde Moore and the passing game. SU's secondary is very SUspect!
I actually would like to see Southern win this game. It will be closer than last year's game, but Tulane is still gonna get the win.
Better overall talent than at SU, especially at qb and the running game. Yes Mewelde is waaaaay better than Victor Ike!

Question for Mike Bigg.
If Tulane has better overall talent than SU,
and SU and JSU appear to have similar talent levels, what does it say about the talent level
of a Southern Miss team that has put up 163 points
on Tulane the past three years (including 59 last year) versus the talent at JSU?

You yellas really crack me up. Everyone doesn't have a "built-in" hatred for you people. But I admit that it is fun watching yall whine and whimper after you get your azz beat.
I was really disappointed in you so-called diehard fans last year. A co-worker of mine went up and down the Hall offering whatever amount of money ($25 minimum) on Tulane over SU. Not one Blue & Gold, QB club member, or whatever little support groupie would take the bet. Dude (a brutha) talked about yall all summer prior to the game, the week of the game, and then after the game. Even went on record to say the bet still stood going into this year. Guess what...still not one yella with enuff Planter's to take the wager. Yall ain't nothing but a bunch of Mounds candy bars...no nutts!
I got so pissed, I tried to bet for yall. He was like...no bruh, I respect you too much to even let you be associated with these sorry mofos!

Actually, Tulane is better than SU only in the skill positions. IMO, the only two skill position players advantage for SU is Michael Hayes (best wide receiver on either team) and db Lenny Williams who can play for anyone in the country. On the offensive and defensive line, they are about even (except Tulane has more depth). Tulane's edge comes in the qb (Losman who played behind a number 1 NFL draft pick) and Mewelde Moore (rated in the top 5 rb's in the country). SU doesn't yet shown that they have a qb that can match Tulane's offensive producton.
On the other hand, JSU has a passer that is far superior to what you have at Southern Miss. They also have receivers with speed and should give your defense some problems. I admit that they play defense like Floridians count chads (very suspect) but they have a chance to outscore you. If their defensive front stops Nix then you guys will be in for some trouble.
That's the reason for my varied opinion!

..........you are the delusional individual.
Tulane is nothing but a 1-AA ball club in disguise. You are a liar that "the dogs in the second" were called off. The Jags were in the red zone 4 times in the 2nd half on your 1st team defense. S.U. will thump your butts on 8/31. Hence, it will not be the first time you got beat by a team other than LSU in the state ( all of those other pretenders are 1-AA schools in disguise also). I cant wait until 8/31 to shut some of "you delusional people" up. Make no mistake, Toolame is not a legitimate 1-A ball club. You all are that in scholarships only. That is the reason no one cares to see your pitiful ball club play. Your game against your SUperior was the largest crowd at home for you school in 9 yrs (1 year short of a decade). That in it self speaks volumes about whom TooLame really is.........Deal with it.

"TU's largest home crowd was against La Tech in 1998, which is when TU finished in the top ten (actually #7) in I-A."
This is not a true statment. Your largest crowd prior to the S.U. game was against the U of Alabama nearly a decade ago.
"So ranking in the top 20 in passing offense for the last four seasons, in the top 30 in total offense this year, despite playing against five top ten defenses is just I-A in name only? "
Face it you are no more than a mid-major (code word for 1-AA in disguise) and the posting of all the stats in the world will not change anyones mind. How many times did your mid major team play on National T.V. the last 10 years. If you have not played a minimum of ten times your team should be in 1-AA.
"Tulane's attendance woes are the same as Miami's--small, private school in an urban setting with competition for the entertainment dollar"
This is a delusional statement. Toolame is no way in the same class with Miami in terms of athletics. I am from New Orleans. No one in the city gives an ish about Toolame. The is why you have attendance woes. Southern U. can go to N.O. and outdraw you lames any day of the week. Your A.D. attended the S.U./JSU you game and wanted a peice of the Magic. That was the inception of this new series.
"Tulane's first team defense wasn't in the game in the second half, BTW. Several starters were sitting at that point."
Either you was not at the game (like I was) or you are smoking left hand cigarettes.

Seriously, what about a sports bar off of Greenville, etc.?

It wasn't just your defensive scheme that got you run over last year. Your defense was not very good at tackling quick agressive runners. Victor Ike is both. Hayes knee is fine. He is running with authority and looks to be in fine condition.
There is no Patrick Ramsey and I don't think Lossman is going to be another Patrick Ramsey. Your offense will sputter without the proven quarterback, so I don't think you will put up the kind of numbers that you think unless we give you the short field to work with.
You are going to be surprised by this year's edition of the "Dog Day Defense" and the running game.
But its time to play the game, baby.
