GSU vs Alcorn Game Saturday?

A scoreboard is not required. If there ever is a failure with the scoreboard the time shall be kept on the field by the officials. The score will be kept be the officials and teams.

Rule: 3-3-8b - Unless a visual game clock is the official timepiece, the referee also shall inform each field captain and head coach when approximately two
minutes of playing time remain in each half. He may order the clock stopped for that purpose.
1. The 25-second count is not interrupted.
2. The clock starts on the snap after the two-minute notification.

This is the SWAC! I don't feel comfortable with letting the officials keep time. LOL. I don't think the official know how to multi-task.

Wasn't it moved because there is power in only 2 buildings. If Saturday is a no, why are they sure that power will be back on the next day?

.....well that means I can not attend.

Now,Alcorn is going to play on Sunday afternoon and turn around and play four days later at SELa on Thursday, thats asking alot.Five days was bad enough.

Listen everyone. An Alcorn football player was injured during Hurrican Katrina. He was hit on the head by one of the flying tree limbs. At last account, he was in the hospital in serious condition. Forget about where the stupid game will be. Those kids need our prayers and any help that we can give them. Priorities, people---priorities!

Is there some news coming out of Lorman about this game being cancelled? My contact at Grambling, who is usually wrong 80% of the time, called to tell me that he thinks it has been and that it will only be rescheduled if necessary after the Bayou Classic.

Yes...this is the latest development. Nothing confirmed yet. I got an email from the SWAC office asking that I remove the last press release stating that I remove the annoucement about the game being played on Sunday.

Alcorn State has postponed its game
Saturday with Grambling State and hopes to reschedule the game for
Dec. 3, athletic director Robert Raines said Thursday.
Raines said Alcorn's game Thursday at Southeastern Louisiana may
be moved to Lorman because the Hammond, La., area was hit hard by
Hurricane Katrina.

From the Associated Press out of Jackson, Miss. ...

If so, that's a relief. It's just too, too much right now to play this game. God bless all those folks who are suffering.

This is truly the best option available IMHO. It should have been done earlier, and actually all SWAC In-conference games should have been cancelled. The SCG could have been move to a later date. That way no conference games would have had to be cancelled. Maybe somebody need to contact the Bimmingham office and tell the commissioners to change the date, its just that simple.

I think it's best to cancel and reschedule later. I don't think the players are really into playing... Just basing that on how I personally feel and would feel as a player and student.

Should we let school out. What about next week, and the next week? Should we cancel the AAMU game? What about the Washington State game.? What about the season?

Why is all the info on this game coming from Grambling???

Looks like I won't get no live action this weekend after all. :(

Sorry coach but Alcorn did the right thing. Players from both schools have family that have been affected by this storm.
