GSU v. PV

Set your homecoming out!!! The Que will still taste the same to me. There is still a long season to go and the Boudain at the new Panther Stadium will still get chewed up by me ijs

How so? Where? You know more about me and others than we do so PLEASE, enlighten us. Show proof ol' boy.

It's PVAMU's homecoming week and there is an excitement in the air surrounding our first homecoming in our new venues. I'm sorry your delusional thinking apparatus has clouded whatever little bit of intell you have causing you and others to think yourselves and your 'wagonish' words are remotely relative, here. :D

Somebody must have told the rest of them it's safe to come out of the closet now lmao.

Well there you have it, looks like the SFC will be a 56-0 GSU game, well PV no use in even suiting up against this superpower

Never called GSU a superpower, but I knew they were a much better football program than PV this season and that they traditionally own PV. I won't be shocked if the Jags beat PV worst than GSU.

I can wish! So far, Gsu and Jsu defenses are 1 and 2 in the Swac..
PV defense certainly held its own in the 1St half, I don't know what happened in the 2nd half.
SU defense has yet to be tested against a really explosive Swac offense.

I'm glad he did and funny you'd bring it up. I thought our D was overrated? From ~70 last season to 36 this season? Or is GSU's offense worse?

The D did what they were supposed to. It was the offense that let them down.

Place twisted logic below....

And of their TDs was a 'gimme' after starting on their own 12 yard line due to an INT.

Last year our defense was horribly and so was PVs. A shoot out means there is no defense.

I think this year both team's defenses stepped up but it was GSU capitalizing off of PV's mistakes that helped us win the game. Also, of note PV never scored again after the first quarter which means there were strong adjustments made by GSU's defense and offense.

The score at the end of the first was 16-7 PV

Isn't that considered capitalizing off a team's mistakes?

It is... nothing wrong with that. But what he's getting at is that our offense was not only failing to move the ball but putting our D in bad spots.

I pretty much agree here. Just making the point that ole buddy called our defense overrated when they did exactly what they needed to do. They managed to keep the score under our average PPG even with the offense shooting them in the foot. GSU's D looks good but our offense was kicking their own arse quite a bit. Not sure what kind of analysis SWAC&MEAC is doing.

I feel you.

I really want to see PV v. SU

Twisted logic huh. The last time I checked, giving up 53 less total yards from the previous meeting is not anything to play your fight song about. I wasn't at the game, but the numbers show that they still managed to rack up over 500 again. The numbers also show GSU pounding the ground, therefore they controlled the clock instead racking up points like they did last year.

So yes, I typed "overrated" for a good reason. I will be surprised if SU doesn't rack up plenty of yards as well. PV is a decent SWAC team this year, but they aren't ready for a title run and would get beat down in a Celebration Bowl.

PV's defense gave J. Kelly more yards this year on less carries from last year. I never really thought much of him for GSU, but he pounded PV. I do agree that GSU's defense has improved and is legit. I thought GSU's defensive coordinator was trash last year and the year before.

Riiiight because we determine the winner of a football game by yards instead of score. It doesn't matter if they allowed 1000 yards the defense kept the score within the capabilities of the offense like they were supposed to. They allowed more rushing yards instead of bombs over their heads for scores. It's not rocket science.

Dude go sit down somewhere. Even with our offense sucking horribly the game was basically a stalemate until the fourth. This game didn't demonstrate nearly the difference you wanted it to so you're counting on SU now lol. Thanks for providing the twisted logic though.

You must be the only PV fan who went to a victory party for the Panther defense after getting beaten. You need to sit somewhere. Defending a defense that gave up 503 total yards and almost 300 on the damn ground is laughable. I guess being sacked so much in the past 3 decades when it comes to winning football games that a 20 point loss doesn't hurt as bad to fans like you. When it was all said and done GSU controlled the clock instead of racking up points through the air. They beat you convincingly as I predicted they would do. I don't need SU to prove a point that Grambling has already proven. PV's defense is overrated. TSU answered many folks questions about what your defense would be this year as they outgained PV with much less talent. Maybe your defense will run the table and prove me wrong. I doubt it.

I am guilty of bashing Todd, but our defense is playing well so far. I thought PV was better than they are this year. I gained confidence that my G-Men would handle them after watching sTu give them hell. Their defense isn't anything special as well.

+1 I am guilty also concerning Todd.

I als felt prior to the season that PV would be much better but after the first game against Texas Southern I knew that PV would not win. Fobbs used the clock against PV. I truly believe we could have gotten more points but a "W" by one point is still a "W"

What does su have to do with this? I don't expect 60 every week, but I don't see, no defense shutting our offense down.

No doubt about it. Fobbs wants a title. The game plan clearly was to make sure we didn't see another "basketball on grass" type win vs PV.

You'd have to be fooling yourselves to have watched PV's offense for the last 3-4 seasons and believe you're going to TOP them out of scoring when they've actually had to slow down and stop putting the defense right back on the field. Hell the team had just scored 56 points in 20:40 and 42 points in 27:52 in the previous 2 games.

The deep pass was taken away in exchange for running to prevent the big easy scoring plays plain and simple. A good chunk of that running was scrambling by a super fast QB in a collapsing pocket with covered receivers. The time of possession for PV was 27 minutes and some change which is plenty of time for our offense to score more than 36 points. They weren't kept off the field any inordinate amount of time. As you should be able to clearly see now from this ASU game our offense is not itself. Our defense kept the scoring manageable against a good offense in GSU and our offense faltered badly. False starts, dropped passes and bad throws all over the place one of which gave GSU the short field to pound it in. I'm sorry but if GSU's plan was to keep the offense off the field they dodged a serious bullet here.

*shrugs* because this MEACSWAC dude keeps trying to prove something about our defense when we haven't been known for defense in years. Grambling didn't run up the score so now he's searching for someone else to make an utterly pointless point. I'd swear this is his first year watching SWAC football and has no idea how we've achieved wins.

"They" coming out from hibernation like pest ridden bed bugs talking about a game that is two weeks old? :D lol

We shouldn't address the tomfoolery, imho. What we should be discussing is how we had to park over 5-6 thousand people in Waller and shuttle them to campus lol. WE have a serious parking problem on overly sold out gamedays like yesterday. There had to be over 400-500 varying RVs both on and off(rv lot on new 290 :( danggggggggg) campus. I've never seen that many people about campus in my entire life.

I got to campus during the first and was amazed. Ended up parking down 1098 as we came up the back way. Every inch of field near the stadium complex was completely covered. I didn't even get to see what things were like towards the front of campus.

Man it was ridiculous, in a good way.
