I know we have a picks thread BUT we should still be able to talk a lil sports about the games.
This season is a little more interesting than I anticipated. I just thought everybody was going to be sorry except THEE.
But we have GSU at 3-1 going up against an up and coming PV squad. That GSU record might be all fluff but the G-Men find ways to win. Should PV be concerned?
JSU is still THEE top dog but SU wants to be us and emotions will might be high this weekend. I say might because SU fans are not what they used to be. They all like the Saints and LSU now. But lets hope they come out to support the Jags. I dont think SU has anything to hang with JSU. Should be 55-7 but we all know SU wont allow that to happen in Mumford.
AAMU is a surprise this year. BCU is down BUT they have been known to pull an upset or two. They seem to have a QB. This one has the makings of a shoot out.
THEN you have AlaState and FAMU. Whew! Im just gonna see how this plays out. I have my thoughts but...... 🤣 Either way, if either loses this game, it puts their chance to win the East on life support.
Dont be surprised if Valley sneaks in a win this week. Just like GSU finds a way to win, TxSo always finds a way to lose.
 
What a great way to usher in SWAC IC play.

We thought we would be at a minimum 3-1 heading into the Sept stretch but 2-2 is acceptable vs all D-1 FBS and FCS competition. We improved from week to week and that's what a lot of us were looking for, to get us ready for IC play. This stat from a hard-hitting nwst team shows that we are finally gel'ing and becoming more disciplined: (penalties -> 4-50 ). Only 4 penalties last game.

Grambling seems to have eeked out a few Ws like we eeked out a few Ls, by us doing silly things on the field. smh We are ready. Tell Gram folks to park their mules and covered wagons by the sheep venue on the north side of Fair Park. lol
 



Man I shole hated this past weekend. I mean, those two late games were decent and all, but dang, who came up with 8 other teams on a bye..

Saturday – September 27, 2025

Alabama A&M U. @ Bethune Cook U. 2:00 pm Man, this game could go either way. BCU has found some offense now, can they stop a good team? A&M has some good weapons, but can Quad hold it together? He has shown some highs and lows over his career.

Alabama St. U. @ Florida A&M U. 2:00 pm - This the hardest game of the week. On one hand, Bama States looks unbeatable, but on the other hand can Body hold up under the pressure of expectation. FAMU has something to prove and it starts Saturday. Can Bama State break the streak? Will FAMU go back to the backup, if so, we may have a game. Is this game at 2pm in Tallahassee? Can Bama State stand the heat?

Texas Southern U. @ Miss Valley St. U. 4:00 pm- Man Texas Southern show know how to lose.

Arkansas-Pine Bluff @ Alcorn St. U. 6:00 pm (Southern Heritage Classic-Memphis,TN) - Pine Bluff vs Alcorn. The battle of the bottom.

Grambling St. U. @ Prairie View A&M U. 6:00 pm (State Fair Classic-Dallas, TX)- Gram fighting back, but if PV plays sound ball, it will be theirs to lose.

Jackson St. U. @ Southern U. 6:00 pm (Boombox Classic-Baton Rouge, LA) - Two rested teams. Not sure if SU has an advantage anywhere on the field but it's a rilvary game so let's do what we do Thee.

Coach, "they" wanted a celebrity hire. They got exactly what they wanted: a celebrity.

Just because you played football at the highest level doesn't automatically translate into being a great leader of football. I'm amazed when moving pieces, like what we see semi-locally at hcu/hbu, iwu, and now utrgv and tarleton, galvanize themselves and position themselves for future success IC.

Dishman reminds me of ole man Jackson. A great player, but the game passed him by a long time ago.

It is indeed another great IC weekend for football.

JSU vs AlaSU on JSU's homecoming w/e with both being undefeated IC and have very strong teams.

BCU hitting its stride vs a trying to get right SU who has an atrocious coaching staff smh.

Talented and horribly coached sTu w/ a chip on its shoulders vs a one-dimensional Grambling St.

Even Valley vs AAMU is intriguing.

NCCU coming in to beat the brakes off FAM.

Truly an exciting w/e, while we rest and recover, looking ahead to help SU get rid of their coaching staff on their homegoing day.

Beginning of the end for Terrance Graves starts this weekend. I simply think BCU will out up major points and s-yew won’t be able to come back.

You’ve got to feel bad for everyone left on S.U. schedule… 😆 S.U. is a football deity and savant the way those programs look…. 😆

They let them Hopson recruits get to their head. They forget how McNair did against real competition in the CB every year going against Broadway and Washington.
