What is GRAMS record OUTSIDE the SWAC and JSU. Then how would GRAM due in all the other sports when they have to play a REAL D1 schedule in basketball, baseball, etc., outside the SWAC world. Then tell me where would the funding come from when all those sports have to be upgraded 100 fold just to be on the TROY state level. :noidea:

Mean they borrowed funds from the State to enhance their athletic facilities while at JSU we use funds to improve academics and build new buildings...but they do have a nice facility lets see if the payoff is more than a SWAC title....


The article was based on teams that were winning they're league or doing well in the playoffs I dont think they took in consideration other factors in selecting Grambling and SC State!

There is a new college of education bldg and complex, new health sciences building, new life science building, new library, new student center, new forensics science bldg, new dorms and many new degree programs

And the killing part is thats just the start on the move to FBS. You also have to build up the ACADEMIC degreed program side to compete with these other schools in FBS when kids are deciding majors. We have some great programs at our schools but in comparison, all of us are just offering the "basic" degreed programs. JSU has been building up our campus and academic programs since 1998 and we are still light years away on that side alone.

That is the same thing JSU started years ago with all these projects and developement projects to upgrade that area with the city and state help. Look like ya'll doing the same with the city of Montgomery.

That is what most don't understand MH. You have to enhance those areas as well as the athletic facilities before you even think about moving up to FBS in sports. Then you have to get and maintain a clear revenue flow to keep all that going.

Be damm gald when JSU get the ball rolling on our stadium on the East side of campus right off from downtown. That would light that entire area up on the weekends.

Since the discussion is about a move up to FBS, we asking legit questions about who is ready for a move and the answer is NO SCHOOL IN THE SWAC IS EVEN CLOSE. And yes..........JSU IS INCLUDED. If any of us tried to make a move now, it would turn out worse than the FAMU move 8 years ago. WE AIN'T READY ON THE ATHLETIC SIDE OR THE ACADEMIC SIDE.

Do you? lol I do believe we are competitive in Baseball, Track In and Outdoor. Have a new basketball coach with a nice arena that will improve, no way but up for us in that area, hell check the Commish standings for the past couple of years and your question will be answered.:read:

We've won the Commissioners Cup for the past four out of five years if I'm not mistaken which says that our overall sports programs are above average in the SWAC.
JSU has consistently been close to the top when it comes to academic ratings of HBCU's as well.
I can go on and on but please enlighten us who aren't in the know about what's going on at Grambling, apart from football. Thanks in advance.
