Grambling Traveling to CAU?

Folks in here talking like the SWAC is the SEC or something, like playing at a D-2 is beneath them.

I wish Bama State, Jackson or A&M would come play at game at Fort Valley or Albany. HBCUs all in the struggle together and playing at different schools can create some good fan experiences.

Agreed. I can't understand how so many black college football fans can be totally fine with watching HBCU's bend over and take it from FBS programs for pay checks, but turn their nose up at a smaller HBCU hosting a popular FCS powerhouse from the SWAC for one of the biggest home games that smaller HBCU will ever see in their backyard during the modern era of the game. Grambling going to CAU might really help their wallet and give their students something to go crazy about for the weekend.

That same school can forfeit our annual game for the next quarter century and J-State would only tie the head to head series.

Now that is getting your ass whipped!

Not to mention y'all beat them 3 consecutive years in their backyard after protest. If that's not ownership, I don't know what is. I didn't expect that.

Of course not that's too be expected from any supporter of D2 who have such an inferiority complex about HBCU's they think they should all be lump in the same basket.

Playing at a D2 IS BENEATH a Division I program, regardless of HBCU/PWI status. Youngstown State ain't traveling to Mount Union and North Dakota State ain't traveling to Grand Valley State.

And another deflection from the subject at hand. No matter how one tries to justify it, it's a total embarrassment for a school with Grambling's reputation, to travel to D-2 Clark-Atlanta. It should've been the other way around.

It's surprising, but it's not an embarrassment. An embarrassment is what we saw during the players protest and 2012, 2013 season results. This is nothing more than a rare/surprising trip to the ATL against Clark Atlanta. I ain't feeling it, but I am not having a major problem with it as well. I am shocked that so many of you are concerned about this. Be concerned about winning the SWAC title like we are. This CAU game is laughable to us, but we will make sure we win it and invite some Georgia prospects to attend. Anyone who turns their noses up at us, please make us pay on the field when you see us. If you get smashed, please remember it's the same team that went to Atlanta to play little ole CAU an embarrassed the SWAC.

We dont have the money those schools have. And all HBCUs should be coming together. We wont be around in 50 years

I have no idea what you're referring to. The article says nothing about a new venue.

What new venue? The Falcons' new stadium?

Turner Field

We continue to fail as a people in that area. The white man tells us that our lower division programs are a joke because we are a joke to him. However, if Alabama calls on a SWAC program to come to Tuscaloosa to strip on the field for a 60-0 beat down for a check, most of today's HBCU so called fans will love it and claim it's not beneath their program. I guess selling our own brand to each other every now and then is faded dream.

If CAU wants to host a Division I opponent, then they need to be in Division I themselves. Can't have it both ways.

Hell almost every PWI in the South was once a member of the Southern Conference. You don't see Wake Forest traveling to Furman because of historical ties.

The fact that some educated people can't seem the grasp the difference between earning a quarter to half a million dollar paycheck for your work vs just hooping and hollering for a halftime show is more frightening then having Donald Trump hand on the red button

Grambling is probaly tap into the Atlanta market. Grambling is known for taking the show on the road. They can't be playing in that small stadium something is in the works, so don't be shocked.

Pulling your pants down for a P5 is working huh? OK. Well enjoy your check. I would rather see more HBCU vs HBCU non conference classics at neutral sites.

And to think we use to have pride in our names.
