Grambling petitions (NCAA) to remove Joe Paterno wins record

Well, the difference is, when Paterno had a few bad years after 40 years of coaching PennState stood by Paterno and let him get back on his feet. When EddieRobinson had a few bad years after dedicating his LIFE to Grambling, the Grambling alumni and supporters turned their backs on EddieRobinson and couldn't wait to push him out the door. The main culprit is coaching at Grambling right now. That dude stabbed EddieRobinson in the back with a long knife and then twisted it.

I wonder what EdwardJones position was when EddieRobinson was being pushed out the door. Every Grambling person on this board couldn't wait for EddieRobinson to he fired. So I find this endeavor a bit hypocritical

I thought you said Doug was going to save the SWAC?

Nope...just calling it like I see it. See whitefolks don't turn their backs on their people as soon as they can. Thats what we do. We can't wait for the next person or the next anything that's we think is better than what we already have. EddieRobinson gave Grambling his whole life, could have left Grambling in the 70s and went to a real school but he chose to stay. None of that meant anything to you backstabbing bastards. Y'all pushed that man out of the door and kicked his hat....treated him like trash while he was alive just cause he had 2 losing seasons.

The hate for EddieRobinson on this board from Grambling fans is just a microcosm of how an overwhelming majority of Grambling alums felt. I really couldn't believe disrespectful y'all were to EddieRobinson until I saw him standing in line at a BCF game. At that moment I understood that y'all are some lowdown backstabbing MFers.

So even though PennState should probably be closed down for an act straight from the devil, this posthumous attempt to act like Grambling cared for EddieRobinson is meaningless. Do something more productive. Dont even waste paper on this mess.

Insert picture of EddieRobinson crying here ....

I would have jump up and shouted Right On(in my Good Times audience voice) Get Ready...but you lost crediblity with these two sentences...now all I can say is you sho right POT!

This is BS and a waste of time. What happened at penn state had nothing to do with wins and losses.

This is totally untrue. At the lowest level, I can't see how you or anyone else can miss the point I have been trying to make for weeks: IF THIS HAD COME TO LIGHT SOONER, PATERNO NEVER WOULD HAVE BEEN ON THE SIDELINE TO BREAK THE RECORD.

You have a man covering up a crime, yet he is on the sideline. I think it is very justified to take back the wins from the onset that he was informed about Sandusky.

I agree with the city of Grambling and the University should also be in on this. Also, Kendrick has repeatedly said that this investigation had been going on for YEARS but somehow schitt didn't hit the fan until the week after Paterno wins the record. I have to believe that is no coincidence.

If I were a victim or the parent of a victim. I would be insulted for the ncaa to punish penn states football program. I want a state or federal bhody to drop the hammer on the institution as a whole. This was a cover up and coruption at the highest level.

Yet, you want the man at the center of the investigation to forever be recognized for wins he never would have got if this info had been reported sooner? Interesting.

This is a very poor move by the CITY OF GRAMBLING. With all due respect to Coach Robinson, we must remember that we all have something in our past that we are not proud of. This situation is about the VICTIMS not the VICTORIES.

You are right but what does Paterno get for his crimes? His statue taken down? Yet, he gets to keep his greatest honor? I don't think so.

If you take away Paterno's wins, then the school would have to forfeit several games, titles and probably funds made because of those wins.
This isn't just about Paterno.

The man is dead. He doesn't know he's being honored, but it's almost a surety that his name will be known for allowing boys to be molested more than football wins.

Well, I can say that there is serious discussions at the Federal level about pulling Penn State's accreditation. There is a very nasty battle brewing there. I doubt it happens though. Them bastids done violated sooo many federal rules it is not funny.

Bro, with all due respect, that is a really stupid comment. Martin Luther King does not know he is being honored either but his family benefits from it and his legacy lives on. Deceased veterans don't know that get honored either...

100 years from now, Paterno will be honored for the most wins and you MIGHT hear a snippet about his DC being a child molestor.

Dude, nobody gonna ask for money back. If anything people WILL stop giving money and that will happen regardless of vacating wins. As for titles, etc.. The NCAA took away GaTech's 2009 ACC Championship but I was in the stands the night we won. They can't take that back. I bet our players still have their rings.

...and you are right. It's not just about Paterno BUT at the same time, it IS about Paterno and for ya'll to want him to keep a record for wins he never would have got if these allegations were not so conveniently made public as soon as he broke the record.

First of all JayRob doesn't make stupid comments.

How can you take away his wins without having Penn State forfeit every game since 1995 or so? Now that would be kinda stupid right there don't you think?

TP, nobody really cares about GT football, so that's irrelevant.:emlaugh:

You don't even know if Penn State would've fired the man had he come out and admitted the allegations. He more than likely would've still been coaching.
Besides, what does this have to do with the field of play? Nothing.
They'd be taking wins away from dedicated players, coaches, fans and alumni who had nothing to do with Paterno's situation.

What if he didn't have the record, would folks still be talking about taking away wins? I highly doubt it.

I dont care about some funky ass wins and losses. This was one the most henous acts in my lifetime. For the victims it is the thing that changed their lives forever. I want penn state university punished too the fullest extent of the law. . I dont care about wins losses and a damn record. I hope these victims take penn state and joe paternos estate to the cleaners. His reputation is tarnished beyond repair. But everybody wants to keep climbing that moral ladder. Take his statue, take his wins, whats next tear down the stadium and burn down his house.

Why not charge his estate back pay and make him pay back all the money he earned from the school? Why not take away his wife's pension that she'll be getting? Why not take away all of his championships and trophys? Why not.......(fill in the blank)

Penn State will be punished but Paterno will still be honored as the greatest football coach of all time. I guess ya'll alright with that. People have short memories.

But you all have your opinions. Let the man keep his GREATEST honor. I guess that somehow makes sense to you. I just don't get it.

if this happened in the mid-90s, even if he self-reported in the mid-2000's they WOULD HAVE FIRED HIS AZZ.

The only way he would not have been fired is if he had reported this immediately. He didn't. I fully understand that taking wins away from kids is not fair BUT taking a record away from a man who had to cut the grass, line the field, buy the food and drive the bus ain't fair either. And as I have told you, those players and fans don't care about the wins and loses. They enjoyed those wins, they partied and got drunk afterwards, and no one can take that from them. Taking away the wins won't hurt any of them AT ALL but it will hurt Paterno's legacy.

At the end of the day, THE MOST IMPORTANT THING TO THEM IS THAT RECORD!
