Grambling lighting up scoreboard, sparking controversy

Hey ..................... If you stop him, he WON'T run up the score. Not his fault. IT's FOOTBALL/SPORT's.

We put plenty of point's up at JSU on teams in the past, so I can't complain about his attitude. :emlaugh:

UAPB's paper wrote about it also....Spears reminds you of someone who got punked alot but wants to flex their muscles when they join a new group of friends..

when the day comes to get the score ran up on him....it won't be pretty.

It's one thing to blow another team out and put up a lot of points, but what Spears is doing is way over the top.

To have your starting QB in a game, up by 37 points, with less than a minute to go, attempting a 2 point conversion..... :smh:

and sad to say, this wasnt the first game that the starters were still playing (and throwing the ball) late in the 4th quarter of a blowout....
:tdown::tdown:

oh well, I guess it would've taken an injury to a starter for them to realize just how STUPID it was. I get the feeling that they still would not have realized how LOWDOWN and LOW CLASS it was. :smh:

No chivalry amongst the few. Nope. :|

Obviously I couldn't coach @ PVAMU because I would've told the defenders to target that <font color=red>X</font> on fat boys rehab'd knee since ol' coarch wanna' be low rent. Screw the 15 yd flag that ensues. lol

Sometimes you gotta' speak "monkey" for monkeys to understand where you're coming from. :retard: Up by 37+ pts. 34 tix left on the clock. U go for 2. :| Did ol' boy call timeout too to review the possible plays for going for 2? lol

I know you people aren't that dumb. Either you're pretending or you really are. Which one is it? gud, you don't have to speak because <font color=purple>we</font> all know which one you are. lol :retard:

If I was the coaches I might have to use the John Channey approach and get a goon on good ole QB. What point is it to run up the score. You Grambling folks are scared to get in the playoff and scared to play any MEAC boys so you want to run the score up on everyone in the SWAC. That fine in the SWAC but in the MEAC you couldn't even get that chance

See Panthro, me and you think alike. That isht wouldn't happen to ole JR as coach. Because my players would be instructed to ucfk up some mofos if I was getting beat down like that and the starters were still in late in the game. I can understand if he let his backups keep trying to score. That's getting them work. They are supposed to do that. In Spears defense, I see what he is doing. He don't want to play Kerlergen or Landers so he can reshirt one of them. But like I said if I was coaching, I would have told my boys to take them starters out by any means necessary. It would have been ugly. It would have been different if GSU's backups were still trying to score. Then I would have cursed out my own starters for first getting beat down by the other team starters and now you are letting the backups run over you. But since that wasn't the case. I do agree it was not necessary to be going for 2. Hell let your backup /replacement kicker try a extra point. What's the harm. No need for trying to score 60. That aint going to help Bruce win no awards. Those white mofos aint going to give to him anyway. Just watch. He lost that award againt Washington State. Had he thrown for 500 yards in a loss then he may have won the Payton award. Watch how they give that award to someone else. You heard it here first.

Great example of sportsmanship, heh? Also, Panthro, I guess that was good sportmanship what PV players took cheap shots at Gram players in 2004, which almost cost Pettway his shot at the NFL. Carry on.

Yup. I agree with that.

not only does Low Rent Spears have his starters in, but they're in there still throwing 40-50 yard passes, with under a minute on the clock. :smh:

Just downright classless!
:smh:

I personally don't agree with running up the score but Spears has that right. But a coach on an opposing team may one day say if you don't take Eugene out of the game up 50-7 in the fourth quarter, I will take him and other starters out for you. And I shouldn't hear GSU fans or Spears say anything bad about the opposing coach sending in a player to take him out because poor sportsmanship (running up the score) is poor sportsmanship (taking out a player).

Fellas,

Apparently Spears don't give a dayum about being your friend. He doesn't care two monkey nuts about what your coach, players, fans, administrators think about his desire to put 60 on your azz. Would I do it...probably not, but I understand him doing it and say more power to him. Yall kill me with that "wait til his day comes". Hell, Spears don't think his "day will ever come". He's trying to bury you sorry bastirds in the dust and all yall can say is..."The Lord ain't gonna bless him".

Don't yall realize that we ain't your friend! If Spears feels that the best way to dominance is by driving yall into the ground then that's his perogative. And let's be real...it ain't just that he wants to redshirt Landers (that is a part of it). Spears want to run yall into the ground and with Bruce Eugene (the best qb in the league since McNair) he's taking advantage of the opportunity. :lmao:

They don't realize that Bruce was about the only starter left in the game. The receiver that caught the TD was 3rd string. We are gonna redshirt Landers and maybe Kerligan. That is why you probably won't see any other QB other than Bruce. Get used to it or don't get behind. "If you continue to try to score, we will continue to try to score"

I aint mad at Spears for that as far as the Qb situation. No one mentioned it was a 3rd string WR in the game. I don't know if I would have had Bruce throwing if I was going to keep him in the game. That risks injury and the ruins your chance to not have to play one of the other Qbs. So I would just have Bruce hand off to the rbs. I think Spears is feeling himself a little bit. But like I said, what goes around comes around. There are going to be some good teams next year in the SWAC with returning Qbs that are playing right now. So it will be very interesting to see how many run the score up on Spears next year.

Get used to it or don't get behind. "If you continue to try to score, we will continue to try to score" The game is played for 60 minutes, not 45 or 50.
.
.
.
What if Grambling has a predominately running team that was putting up 40 to 50 points....Would you expect us to stop running to keep from adding to the score.....or would you want us to pass, if we weren't good at it?

Good question. Somehow running the ball don't bring out the same response as passing the ball. For one thing running the ball also runs out the clock. So unless you are Oklahoma and Nebraska from the 80s and can score with 2 or 3 handoffs then you probably will not score 50 points all the time. Another thing is this, you can always run your backup OL and rbs on a running team. It doesn't send the message of trying to score on a big play like passing the ball does.

That's fine Mike. I don't think that is what we are talking about. Coaches being friends or if Spears cares what we think. He can think like he wants. But the law of averages always says he will get his in the long run. Bruce graduates and their is no Qb on GSU's roster who will be able to do what Bruce does immediately while there are some other SWAC qbs starting to show they will be dominate Qbs in the conference in the future. So all I am saying is sure Spears may not care. But we will see how forgiving GSU fans are when the roles are reversed. Trust me they can be. All it takes is for graduation of a few players. Even the big time programs go through it.

Why bring up 1 game from years ago when it is proven that they had reserves in the game. You can look at the pattern of your coach and it shows that he will/has kept his starters in the game and continued to score. It's not the theory of "when they stop trying to score we'll stop", it's gonna be tuff for your coach when someone does actually go after one of your star players and hurt them. It will be no ones fault but Spears.....but you support this because "I'm the ICoon"........ :goodbad:
