Grambling football searching to replace Bacone College after school announces closure

NDSU came to Valley before they started their title run so a home and home was no big deal (during the end of the Totten era)

I want my G-Men to schedule someone with some bite. Let them know that we or the SWAC is scared of no one!

Grambling St has returned to form, no doubt. The rest of us are trying to come up to GSU's level.

Lets track the SWAC's OOC performance vs D-I FBS, D-I FCS, D-II, and/or NAIA and it will show the tale of the tape, as far as how the SWAC is situated in competitivity.

Serves Gramberling right. Why would you schedule only 10 games and then one of them be Bacone. We need the 9 game mandate... smh

Your OPINION would be valid if you had the facts right. Grambling scheduled 11 games. Not 10. And do not discredit the SWAC's responsibility in all of this. When SWAC member schools don't have ample time in knowing their open dates for a particular season from the conference office, things like this happen. I can assure you that with ample time Grambling would not have scheduled Bacone and that Southern would have created an 11 game schedule. It may not be sexy, but logistics matter.

yada yada yada. Bacon Bits University must have been 11.

And I am TP. I always have a point.

I tell you what Grambling was doing. Grambling was waiting around from a team to say they would pay them $500K to drag them up and down the field. When that didn't happen. You end up with Bacon and Chives. The same thing happened with JSU in 1999 when we ended scheduling New Haven. We were waiting on a pay day game that fell thru. JSU has our OOC allotment and you mean that Grambling, THE Grambling, THAT Grambling, THE ICON Grambling needed time?

When you gonna let us use gifs mane? LOL

So how is the President/AD or AD/President (depending on how Get Ready Interprets It) doing over there?

I'm sorry TP, but that isn't the Grambling way. Grambling was originally asked to play UNLV on the same day we are to play Bacone. We turned that game down. PV will be playing them instead. We already have our FBS opponent schedule for next year in ULL. We were hoping to play another FCS opponent in addition to Northwestern State. But I can assure you we were not waiting for a P5 game.

When people just talk and don't know the facts, they say anything lol

The SWAC Office told Grambling that JSU was coming back to Grambling as a SWAC game. Afterwards, they renegade and said the game wouldn’t be played, and JSU decided to run from Grambling in the process

No! The ineptness of one institution's AD should not affect the other 9 conference members.

Exactly...Just wait till next year since some are already behind....

KCUF?

Oh....

Nah, that was the best thing for us..

Yeah, because you only had to schedule 1 OOC game and now since you have to schedule 3, y'all having problems. What's gonna happen next year when you can schedule 5 OOC games. I guess there will be more conference opponents as OOC games.

Weren't we on a 2 year rotation? Meaning the JSU game didn't count for Grambling last year and wouldn't count this year either? It was a contract between JSU and GSU right? SWAC office doesn't negotiate or control non conference games even between conference members.
