Mr. Williams was candid when he spoke about the how the newfound fame has created temptations and feelings of wanting to drink/do drugs from the stress. He went from nobody paying attention, to every time he goes by a window, a flash bulb goes off so I understand.

And yes, addictions take time. he'll ALWAYS be on the road to recovery. And lets not point the finger at a relapse. The man is asking for help and trying to do what he can. The family...they just wanting that dollar, figures he owes it to them since he's be MIA for 10 years, put Moma through this and that, blah, blah, blah. But I hope somebody tells him to cut them off, keep them at a distance and THEN when HE is mentally and chemically stable, THEN he can visit with them.

But of course, they'll have filed a thousand lawsuits for abandonement, mental anguish, money lent in 2001, etc. by then. :rolleyes:
 
The man was HOMELESS so surely everyone involved knew he had issues!! LMAO

It's an unfortunate incident that hopefully won't happen again. I'm sure there's a lot of anger, hurt, bitter feelings between the father and his NINE KIDS he walked out on so who knows what's really going on.

But the best thing for everyone is that he is successful with this second chance and they all reap the benefits.
 
The sad thing is, I don't see him coming out on top, at least not finacially. He'll be in court left and right for things he did in his past...... I just want him to get off the drugs and alcohol.....
 
Hmmmmm....I have a question. It may be personal but anyone of you ladies or gents ever experience something similiar to Ted Williams? Any of your relatives hit rock bottom? After they have become mentally stable and completely sober, did they attempt to come back into your life?

Yes. I'm divorced because my husband became a compulsive gambler + all those things that go along with it--lying, pawning things, stealing money from bank accounts that weren't his [ mine and his baby son--with identical name] as well as ransacking my folks house and stealing money from them, then begging money from any and everybody all over my hometown...etc. All the while, I was trying to get him help. He just "pretended" it was helping until the last act that broke the camel's back. Many people say, "that's not the same." But believe me, it is plus some.

do they want to come back? Every time they hit a low. As he told me, "He needed my 'strength'. If he had that he could do better.He had a better lifestyle when we were together, etc. " :smh: He still doesn't get it...
