I knew the late Bobby Joe Hill personally.
I met him years ago when I was stationed in El Paso. His daughter is a lawyer and a product of the Thurgood Marshall law school
That guy always opened up his home to US, because he knew that most of us were military and wanted to fellowship with each other.
One thing about the movie that I got upset that they left out was the speech that Adolph Rupp had with his players during halftime about them losing to a bunch of n**ggers, and they needed to play better.
Bobby Joe also told me that after the game Pat Riley was the
only Kentucky player that came over and shook their hands.
I know you can only shove so much historical data into a two hour movie, but I thought those two tangents should have been included, because he told a bunch of us about that.
Also, their is another inaccuracy depicted int the line in the movie about Don Haskins starting a whole black line-up to make a statement to America, but in fact, he wanted to
win. The black players were better....period!
RIP Bobby Joe!
