I saw the game on tape. Vandale is a good friend of mine.
Yeah, I got that tape, too (hadn't seen it in a while though). It's sad when the best game ever played in the AAC doesn't involve JSU. :emlaugh:

wow that's interesting, considering that somebody told me the best game played at Memorial Stadium didn't involve Jsu either. It's sad when the best game ever played in the AAC doesn't involve JSU. :emlaugh:

but I digress though.....

They got beat by 30 again today in the consolation game. How are they even ranked in the top 10. Bob Jones isnt even the best team in their 4 team area. On the 80 game winning streak, I was just going by the article they had on them... they didnt mention they had two losses on their record this year.. so my bad on the misinformation. Their star player went to Delta State?
btw I forgot to mention earlier Bama kicked Mississippi ass in the Alabama/Mississippi all star football game AGAINWe need to find another state to play in basketball and football.... maybe Tennessee is open.
DaHill Delta State has won a few national titles in womens basketball on that level. It's close to Gentry pretty much about a 20 minute drive so she stayed close to home. She wasn't the only star.
Second. Alabama don't want none of Mississippi's tops Mens teams. None. Jackson teams would run through you guys like hot grits.
Second Mississippi won last year. And Mississippi's best players didn't play in several of the previous games. Last year was the first time several played.
I'll put Murrah up against your top team any day.
Please look at the records for the Alabama/Mississippi all star basketball games boys and girls. The TOP player never plays in the game because they can only play in so many post season games, and they usually pick the Jordan Classic and McDonald All American game... Basketball in this state is huge. Our state championship game is played in a sold out BJCC (18,000 plus) and is one of the biggest basketball state championships in the country.
shawiggi... up until this year Murrah came to Huntsville every year for the Thanksgiving tournament,..... they got their ass kicked the first two games for the past 4 years. The Nelson kid was NICE, but they still were losing by 20 and leaving Bama after their first two games. Their coach wont send those kids up here anymore. Leflore would beat the hell out of any team in Mississippi. They average 40 point wins and have the #2 player in the nation on their team. They had TEN kids get basketball scholarships last year (including Mr. Basketball) and was ranked as high as #2 in the nation... reloaded this year and still undefeated after playing in national tournaments.
#2 player in the nation Demarcus Cousins 6"11 guard, foward, center

Dahill not one Alabama team ranked in the top 25 in the country last season???

Murrah was #14 until they lost to Gentry.

AL ain't seeing MS athletically. If you wanna base it off of a series of all-star games, then do that. (although you conviniently forgot to mention the MS/AL score last year). But overall, and in the long run, MS has more pro athletes per capita than AL. At least in football and baseball. Not sure about hoops, but we probably have more players in the NBA.
lmao@per capita... LS... kill yourself
Point proven. This is where you would normally come in with your numbers and stats and articles and what not. All you got is "kill yourself"? LOL
Like I said, if you wanna take one lil' series and run with it, then so be it.
BTW, Fluker is from Biloxi and moved to AL for his senior season.
what numbers? You want me to take the total population of Mississippi and total population of Alabama and come up with a per capita of how many professional players come out of both.... thats why i said KILL YOURSELF.... we kick your ass in every sport.... i could care less about the per capita numbers.

MOBILE - The Most Valuable Player award for Alabama went to strong-armed quarterback A.J. McCarron of hometown St. Paul's High School.
Nobody would have argued if the vote had gone to massive left tackle D.J. Fluker from a little farther down the road in Foley.
Fluker (6-foot-7, 335 pounds), who like McCarron has committed to play for the Alabama Crimson Tide, helped pave the way for a bruising running game that set the tone early in 28-3 win Saturday over Mississippi in the High School All-Star Classic.
The crowd at Ladd-Peebles Stadium looked on as Fluker and company gave McCarron the time to complete 9-of-17 passes for 162 yards with two touchdowns and no interceptions.
"I did real good,'' said Fluker, who eventually landed at Foley years after his family lost their New Orleans home to Hurricane Katrina.
"And I had fun doing it.''
Another standout for Alabama was Austin's D.T. Shackelford, a linebacker for the Black Bears who played rush end this week.
He drew raves for his quickness during practice and carried that momentum into the game. Among his three tackles was a sack and a tackle for loss, and he also recovered a fumble.
Shackelford also hurried Mississippi's Tyler Russell into making a throw that was intercepted by Prattville's Zach Brownell.
"Mississippi played hard, but we practiced hard and played hard and gave it all we had for 48 minutes,'' Shackelford said.
Alabama head coach John Grass of Oxford said the squad's play was a reflection of the week.
"You usually play like you practice, and this bunch from the first practice on practiced fast and practiced physical,'' he said. "I just felt like we played faster (than Mississippi), and that's because of the way we practiced.''
Alabama had 318 yards in total offense and held Mississippi to 179.
Linebacker Tana Patrick of North Jackson, who finished with two tackles and had one for a loss, said he wasn't surprised by Alabama's dominance.
"Oh, no,'' he said. "We've been having great practices all week, so ...''
Alabama scored its first touchdown on its second possession when Shawn Southward of Florence went around left end and swiped the pylon with the ball as he dove toward the end zone. Jimmy Newman's extra point made it 7-0 with 5:50 left in the first quarter.
Southward scored on Alabama's next drive, which was keyed by a 57-yard reception from McCarron to Kendall Kelly of Gadsden City, when he cruised in from the 2-yard line behind Fluker with 2:11 left in the first.
Alabama made it 21-0 with 9:05 left in half when Ralph Poellnitz of Murphy caught a 12-yard TD pass from McCarron.
Mississippi got on the board before the half ended when Travis Bradley of Pascagoula kicked a 39-yard field goal.
Alabama finished the scoring when McCarron scrambled out of the pocket, threw to the back of the end zone and Poellnitz went high to snare a 24-yard TD pass to make it 28-3 with 10:55 left in the third.
BTW:
What ever happened to HOOVER that he used to brag about.
Have not heard him talk about them in years since they got caught cheating.
lmao@how Dahill got 'em on the ropes
:lol::lol:(like this wasn't expected. lol)
I was gone say, but ya'll beat me to it, D.J. Fluker is actually from Mississippi.
P.S. Players, most of our top players did play in the Mississippi/Alabama All-Star game, our problem was we had all the skill position players in the world, but the offensive line they picked wasn't worth a damn, so Russell had no time.
Hadn't heard him mention how S. Panola beat FL's Apopka HS either....after he aal but swore down they would beat SP since they don't play any out of state competition. I guess FL doesn't count.![]()
Hoover lost in the state finals on a blocked field goal to nationally ranked prattville.Man.
Why are ya'll arguing with DaHill.
He has "overlooked" Gentry for the last 3 year's and now all of a sudden he come's in, talking crap about some ruddy poop school call bob jones.
Everybody here has told him Gentry has had their run the last 3 years and thier player's that made that run are in college now but he act like BOB JONES or whoever they are beat the best team in Mississippi this year.
Tell BOB jones to play Murrah this year.
