Come on dude, I KNOW you don't really believe this. It takes HEART to be a winner. Kobe is not the Wizard of Oz, neither is Jordan.
Gasol plays no where near the defense and was nowhere near being as physical as Cartwright. He's not built for that. Fisher missed wide open shots that he'd made during the Western Conference semifinals against the Jazz. That's not Kobe's fault.
You forgot to mention who the Lakers have to compare to Horace Grant or Dennis Rodman for rebounding and interior defense. The answer is no one. That power forward position was probably the key to this series being won or lost.

Jordan had 1 legit Hall of Famer in Pippen.......
Rodman wasn't a scorer but could rebound.....probably will not make the HOF......and MJ only had him for 3 rings.

Stop making excuses for Kobe. Detroit with no HOF beat a Lakers team full of Hall of Famers........ yall had Shaq, Kobe, Malone and Payton.......all legit HOF players and got beat by the Pistons 4-1........
So it can be done. Those players at Detroit just had heart and played as a team.......something the Lakers didn't.
Same thing happened to the Sixers in 77 when they had Dr.J, George McGinnis, World B Free, Henry Bibby, Darryl Dawkins, etc........and lost to Bill Walton and a cast of characters in Portland.

Karl Malone and Payton were still good players. Hell GP went on to win a championship with the Heat. LOL. So can it with that mess that they were too old. The Lakers were favored in that series big time. Jordan,Pippen, and Rodman were in their mid 30s when they won from 96-98. Wasn't like Karl Malone and GP were out of shape. Plus they had Shaq and Kobe to help. That's 4 HOF. How many do you need? Or all have to be young. Karl right now is better than Odom and Gasol. LOL. GP got more heart right now than some of the Lakers scrubs. LOL.
The point is......that you don't need Hall of Famers to be another team with HOF players. It has been done many times. Detroit did it. Portland did it. Chicago and Jordan did it when they were a young team.
Well let you tell it .........the Lakers are doomed then. They have no HOF except Kobe......so where are they going to get some to help him? Aint like teams are ready to part with their HOF players. Now that is what you said you need to win now. So I guess all the NBA teams should just say Boston will win the next 2 titles since KG, Allen and Pierce are all in their early 30s (prime)

The Lakers had Shaq and Kobe, plus a washed up Payton and Malone, who retired, yes, retired at the end of the season.
