Gas Prices

Most studies show that Americans are not really that concerned by the increase in gas prices. By that, they mean that driving habits have not changed and wont change until gas reaches $3 a gallon.

Have you changed your driving patterns due to the increase in gas prices?

Oil stocks looks like the best investment over the next couple of years.

My wife and I are both commuters so its impacted us a lot. Basically the extra money we spend for gas keeps us from saving as much as we'd like to.

Yes. My wife and I are looking to purchase a new vechicle. The increase in gas prices has eliminated large SUVs from the list. Miles per gallon and performance will be the deciding factor.

Absolutely. I make no unnecessary trips any more. I try to "kill two birds with one stone". For example, my bank, cleaners, grocery store, post office, gym (when I can go), are all right there together, so I make one trip do.

ditto

I'm almost 35 years old and I really don't make unnecassary trips. When I'm in my truck, I'm head to-from work, church, kids sports, or grocery store. If it continues to go higher, I will probably cut out other things such as (weekly haircuts, # of times I play golf, movie renting, etc.) The increase in gas from about 3 months ago is putting about a $15/week increase in the amount of gas we purchase for 2 SUVs.

Whatchew drivin' A TANK? :lmao:

It is $2.19 at Shell, Exxon, BP, etc. and $2.09 at the cheaper stores for regular here in the Red Stick.

As for as the impact, I will try not to forget stuff at home and have to drive the 22 miles back from my office and I will try to consolidate trips to the store, etc., but I'm kinda like Sperm, hell when I want to go somewhere, I will and I just pay the money.

Just filled up and prices are as much as $0.19 higher this week compared to last week.
I'm telling ya', there's a station near me where the prices change daily; sometimes twice a day. It's ridiculous.

It has not changed our lifestyle yet. We don't have SUV's so the gas bill is not killing us. We were talking about buying a Expedition, but that has been axed. We have no car notes now and we'll just continue to drive what we have.

I could have sworn that I saw a Shell at about $2.10 Monday morning and then saw the price at $2.14 that evening.

Anyway, it is making me make changes. For starters I do not make as many drives-like to Houston-as I use to do. Also, it will cause me to re-think where I will move.

This crap has majorly impacted my life. I don't make unnecassary trips. I work 1.5 miles from work. So I go to work then home. If I know someone going to the same place as me. I get them to pick me up.

That is happening here in BR. I passed the Exxon near my home and it was 2.07 that morning. It was 2.10 when I went home that evening. It was 2.15 when I drove past them last night on my way home from work.

For now, this is my mode of operation.

Well, life doesn't stop for this either, so I just pout, kick, cuss, fuss, and carry on. I'm filling up my SUV at about $36 every 3 days. I work in the field sometimes and try to visit clients in one vicinity vs. driving all over town.
At this point, I'm glad to see anything reg under $2.07

my fiancee up and got in my truck last night to go over my cousin's houe that is 25 minutes away, i wasa bout to take the broom and get at that boy. that truck goes to work, back to home and the grocery store (once a week). :smash: if i have to fill up before schedule, there will be hell to pay.

The Sad part of this thread is I live in Houston and here we have the cheapest prices in the union. :(

How many of us use supreme? I do in the expedition. :redhot::redhot:
