Man, you can't be serious. No city in America would welcome Freaknic even though it probably put more money in ATLs economy than ANY Event ever held in the city minus probably the Olympics.

Freaknik wasn't a money maker by any stretch of the imagination. (except for the liquor stores and gas stations  )
btw, the best ones were the earlier ones, before the police crackdown.
Fine Azz Ques Unite!!!! :lmao:
.....yea I"m wit'cha MH.
Before the locals, and locals from every other city around the country started coming. It was strictly college folks! My best freaknic was 89? 90?, when it was in Washington Park. They had a "Go-Go" band from DC playin and a DJ in the mix. Folks barbecuing, drankin, dancin, Greeks party hoppin,a lot of my A&M folks there, etc....it was a beautiful sight.
The tripped out part about Freaknic was; you never knew when(date) it was gone be, or where(park) it was gone be until like the last minute; like a week notice. Then you didnt find out which park until you got to Atlanta LOL.

Freanik 94 was off the hook. That's one of the best life experiences I ever had, and I've had my share, but that 94 Freaknik was so tight, I'm getting tears just thinking about it.
NICE
When I went damn near every hotel in Atlanta was sold out... that is what I am speakin on.... mall were packed with people spending money..... The ATL economy made money that weekend. If you telling me the ATL economy didnt make any money, thats like you tellin me that Birmingham didnt make any money off Magic City Classic.... because Freaknik was 10 times larger than Magic City Classic.
MH, I went to one of what was considered the "first" ones in 89'. Back then only college peeps mostly were involved. Then, years later....the Snoop Dogs and Lil Kims of the world got involved and the rest is history. lol
Where all that strippin and gettin freaked in parks, parked cars, etc.... came from, I never know.

You are so right. I was here hanging out in 'Where all that strippin and gettin freaked in parks, parked cars, etc.... came from, I never know.
Yeah Frat, I am with you and MH about the older Freaknics. Me and my boy rolled down from Norfolk in 90 and 91 when we just got back from sea when I was in the Navy.....It was so wild I thought ole JR and Chris(my partner from Detroit) were going to be deemed unworthy of being Naval Officers. LOL.
Snake, I think we met some bruhs that year from A&T and Bethune Cookman.
One A&T bruh had a damn ferret with a small blue bandana on it. The thing was off the chain. It was trying to drank with us bruhs.Man that was some fun back in the day. Also hung out with bruhs from Bama State who were from the ATL....Polk, Rick, Mike.....etc Just crazy isht.

Hey BTW, did you ever hang out with any of the old school Gamma Sigma (ASU) Ques?? A few of em were from my neck of da woods and they were real cool.
Right, Freaknik 1994 was Classic. If you did not freaknik before 1994, you NEVER Freaknik'ed!! 1994 caused it to be shut down...it was great...it was fantastic. Of course, I lived in ATL from 1995 on and it HAD nothing on 1994 and previous.
.....ey thats when them locals got involved; they took it that level, and mofos who never been that didnt know that it was only suppose to be a picnic, followed suit with the "freakness". LOL bnr
LOL @ your Navy thoughts.
I know yall got down if any of those EG bruhs were present. Seen Mike this summer; Rick somewhere in ATL, wouldn mind seeing him..its been a minute. Saw Polk at the MCC.
But yeah, you got a true taste of the real freaknic.

Frat. I was trying to play the role of the good Naval Officer and not trying to revert back to my previous college days with the frat.....but hanging out with them fools from EG had my mind bad again........ Heck I aint gone even go into the story of Rick and Polk in the car with me one of those nights that weekend and them bruhs were talking isht to the ATL police from the backseat in front of the club. I was like these bruhs bout to get us took to jail. Good thing I difused the situation.:shame:
I used to see Rick everytime SU would play in the ATL in the early 90s. I haven't seen Polk in awhile. Mike either. Still remember Mike taking us to the bootleg spot in the hood to get some beer on a Sunday in the ATL.![]()
