These are the first steps towards a trend. These teams with bona fide first round draft picks playing in lower tier bowls will start to see more of this in the future. Just my lil thoughts.

This is a by-product of the CFP. People will still watch these bowl games but pretty much every bowl game outside of the CFP (and Celebration Bowl because it's FCS) is useless. No need to risk injury in a meaningless game if you are a 1st or 2nd round draft pick

Yea it is but the next round of negotiations the price of advertising will go down due to the product being watered down with schools not having marquee stars playing.
The NCAA don't run or make money off bowl games. Why should they care?
