I didn't expect the brother to get probation, but dayummmmm. I guess the courts had to make an example of someone in Houston after Ken Lay died and got his conviction erased. Darn shame. :shame:

Well I may be the only one who is thinking like this and it will possibly upset some but that ninja got what he deserved. I am glad that he is not getting probation.

I didn't think he would get probation. Considering what others have gotten for far worse economic crimes, I thought the sentence was a tad harsh.

Guess it's a good thing he didn't get the full 30 years. I do hope the next time a clear person is convicted of a similar offense s/he will get a similar sentence. :smash:

How much was that got dayum bed AGAIN?????? For what she paid for that bed they could have split that money between possibly 50 students that needed a little help to get into school.:shame: :shame: :shame: :shame: :shame: :shame: :shame:

I don't like the negative press we get from stuff like this. WE ALREADY HAVE IT BAD JUST BEING AN HBCU!!!!!
 
One big issue is the quality of the Attorney's representing each defendant.

Wiggins went out and got L. Mikele Daniels and Slade went out and got Mike DeGuerin, who is ULTRA high profile Atty. Dick DeGuerin's brother.

Them DeGuerin boys ain't no joke in the Texas legal circles and trust me Attny. Daniels is not on there level. Schyatt, Quentin went out and secured his dayum church member as his attorney. He should have known better....

Not to start a debate...but regardless what the bed cost....Slade did help alot of people get into school.
