TSU had one....SU had a 7-footer two years ago..Jackson State had a 6-11 and a 7-footer in the late 90s on the same team..GSU had 6-11 Thomas Dodd.....Alcorn had a 6-10 guy last year, Alabama State had a 6-11 center in 2003...need I go on?

Yes, please do because you never mentioned anything above about several 6-10 guys. You were speaking directly about the one Texas Southern had. But anyway, good luck Riley.

No Sir.

Where are the several 6-11, 350 pound post players in the SWAC you supposedly talked about? It's always a Texas Southern or southern issue when it comes to you. :smh:

You guys (TxSU) did have a big guy, that transferred a while back !! I think that's who TBF, is mentioning. I think he transferred to UT or something.

to stop roderick riley the only thing that they have to do is call the former coach of alcorn state the wizard dave whitney to get the answer to stop him.the only thing that he will do is slam the ball down and get kicked out of the game.by the way band fan how much were those expeditions that ya'll rented @ the swac tournament,it was only a one day rental considering that ya'll got bounced out of the first round!!!!

eddie stewart played for tsu for 2 years under moreland ,left and went to texas and didn't do squat he didn't even suit up.

boy, remind me never to share info about my blessing or dreams with you guys. just negative. I would think all of you would be happy that this young man from the swac is getting an opportunity to prove his talent in the nba. instead it didn't take 3 clicks of the mouse b/f you tried to dose the flame of hope. personally I hope that he does well and is able to carry the swac banner. it has been awhile we've had a new head in the league. what? bobby phils. so back off this man. just say good luck if you can muster that.

My feelings exactly. You dont know what transformations he has made to get to where he is. I wish the best to him and his family.

well francis canreally learn after getting ran off the hill so don't say that, prarie view was a soap opera when tyrone left,so don't say that it was the coach we won without a great big man now that's coaching son.

And East Tex Tiger did mention Eddie Stewart.

My replies are solely on the basis that band fan mentioned that he was referring to all the 6-10 or bigger big men in the SWAC when he only singled out our 6-10 big man. Then he came back and said he referred to all SWAC big men.

Quit defending those who are in the wrong sometimes. :D

Eddie Stewart was the last BIG man to play in the SWAC outside of Riley that weighs over 300 pounds...and he had potential but it was never developed out of him. Riley entered school the same way.

Francis 4-2 vs TSU (5-1 if you consider forfeit)...both Francis and Riley are big things now....so it doesn't matter.

wasn't defending, I wanted to know what ever happened to him my self !
:)

Congratulations Riley and continued good luck!!

I felt he would get a chance if he stayed with the game after college. One can not teach height (big). I can honestly state that he has come a long way since his freshman year. I am also very aware that he worked very hard to improve his game, especially under Coach Francis his last two years.

Many in the MEAC had similar commentary regarding James, Jerome 7'1'' - 231 when he got a shot and came into the league 5 years ago with the Seattle Supersonics.

Shaking My Head, we have some serious issues on this board at times.

I concur. Best wishes for Riley.

Eddie Stewart made a serious mistake. He should have stayed at Texas Southern. Eddie went to UT never played and came back to Texas Southern, however he never made it back on the court. I think he tried to throw the discus or shot put for the Tigers.

I really do not think it is the message, it is the messenger.

Ronnie Cavenall out TSU and Beaumont played several years in the NBA. He was not even close, to better bigs in the SWAC or at TSU. Sometimes it is more about timing, opportunity than talent.
