Cleb,

Too bad for your girl in the 200m. But she obviously had a good indoor season and will perhaps make some noise outside.

Looks like Ms. Lee from LSU will run away with that race. Btw, not taking anything away from her, 'cause she a very gifted sprinter --- but what's your overall impression of her (Muna)? I've seen her race before and I thought she had a very unorthodoxed style/stride for someone of her caliber --- not to mention the coaching and resources available to her at LSU. But, I guess you can't argue with her results.

On a lighter note, I was heading up Lexington (returning from 1st Colony Mall) a few weeks ago and saw none other than Bill Thomas. He was decked out in a Texas Southern warmup suit. :what:

I have the same opinion on Muna Lee. She has a very unique stride frequency and upper torso movement. It appears her junior high/summer track coach never corrected her technique but it appears she has "Michael Johnson" syndrome: If it ain't broke don't fix it.

That's what happens when you're still employed at when you resign from coaching at Texas Southern. :smh:

....

I know how track and field injuries can affect a career. I have first hand knowledge and have seen and experienced it.

C-Leb,

I agree with your assessment, although my issue with MJ was that he seemed so "stiff" --- but not a lot of wasted motion like Muna. Also, she did appear to struggle last season when she stepped up to face national/international comp. Unless she turns out to have the "MJ" factor, her technique might prevent her from reaching the truly elite status. I'm sure you can understand that poor technique could mean the difference in .01-.05 of a sec --- truly significant in the sprints.

As for as Bill Thomas, at least the man appears to still have some love for y'all.
