Five reasons why people hate Kobe Bryant (and why they're wrong)

I wonder if Lebron is laughing at these commercials (shown around the globe) that mock him over and over and over? Money is fine, but a players ego is a whole different story. Take for instance, Lebron walking off the court without shaking hands after losing. Now think about these commercials. One would think that he's steaming-hot and highly pissed.

And who said LA winning a championship was about LA?...:retard:

I'm glad Lebron is at home making more money than Kobe getting ready to take over the NBA...

Ey,
Yall remember when MJ and the Bulls won that first ring, didn't yall have that feeling of "Oh well, as long as MJ is there they ain't losing ever again"...

Well I have a strange feeling Lebron is about to go there...

Oh yeah, him too HBCU... He Jag Nation but DAYUM!!....:shame:

Good points, JR. For the record, Magic is my GOAT. Anybody that can play out of position and dominate in the Finals as a rookie has my vote. That has to go down as one of the greatest performances in sports history, not just the NBA.

Board,

As far as the 'mimicking' debate goes, I think many are running off on tangents. No one ever said it was wrong to emulate a great. Re-read my original post. The POINT was that Kobe was virtually forced down the path of being the "next Jordan", for better or for worse image-wise. It can be argued that until now he's never had much opportunity to leave his own calling card on the league:

1. In part because of the expectation that he be someone else.
2. In part because he spent the first half of his career literally in Shaq's shadow. (No, I'm not a fan of Shaq's in the least... That ain't "hate" speaking. )

BTW, I see everyone just blew off the other reasons posted as to why some don't personally care for Bryant. Ironically, it's the same reason some don't like MJ. And that has to do with off-the-court incidences. Unfortunately the past rarely remains in the past, especially when you're a high profile personality.

Lemme put it this way. If I'm accused (rightly or wrongly) of sexual misconduct on or off the job, then no matter how brilliant I am... no matter how hard a worker I am... a stigma will hang over my head for the rest of my professional life. Somewhere, somehow, someone will dislike me based on the downside of my reputation and most likely based on his own vivid imagination. Like it or not, Kobe Bryant didn't help his image one bit by what happened in Denver. And that's the bottom line for some people when it comes to deciding his legacy. It sucks, but that's life.

How a thread of the top 5 reason why "SOME" people on this board hate MJ and Lebron...

Now that would be a good one...lol

Man you know exactly we he doesn't. Because he knows it's going to cause a big hoopla and than the NBA/Nike won't be able to make as much money off of the Jordan groupies anymore.

Hey check this out though...

Uh Blue, I wasn't dissing Kareem. I still say he is the greatest Laker of all time then Magic is a close second. So where you got that nonsense that I was dissing him like Shaq I have no idea.

Secondly.......you can spin it all you want to. MJ is the GOAT and more people in this world believe it than believe Kobe is. ESPN has already had that poll before. CNNSI has as well. Dude is an ICON. Yall can say he cheated all you want. Obviously if he did.........the NBA shole loved him enough to cover it up and still let him in as an owner. So what does that tell you.

Thirdly.......how crazy does it sound that nobody traded up for MJ......LOL.
You do realize he was the 3rd pick in the draft. Kobe was like 12th or something. Charlotte was barely a lottery team. So don't act like the Lakers had to trade up to the top 3 picks to get him.

Man I am getting concerned for you. You are supposed to be old school but you shole act like you grew up watching Kobe or something. I know you are a Laker fan.......but man all the Laker fans including my in-laws are definitely not on the same page as yall are. And they live in L.A. lol. Even some of those folks out there don't like Kobe. They love their Lakers first. I bet even if they took a poll in L.A. on who they thought was the GOAT and who is the greatest Laker of all time......I bet you Kobe would not win that poll.

And lastly since you bring up Nike.....lets see if Kobe still have sponsorship from them when he retires. I bet they aint going to replace the Air Jordan brand with the Kobe brand.......hell he aint even their lead guy now.

As for the commercial. I love them muppets. Too bad Kobe's personality aint as funny or cool like the muppet/voice portraying him. Nike knew this too. ~snicker~

Blue.......you know I am getting a good chuckle out of this.

BTW, I know your arse is just instigating all this. Don't worry football season will be here soon so you can get back to rooting for our Steelers.:D

Thank ya for proving my point again. Now how you think that made Jordan feel that Kobe was like 12th or something and Charlotte was barely a lottery team but they traded up for him and nobody wanted him?

Thanks probably what motivated him to cheat don't you think?

:lol::lol:

Do you realize how silly that sounds Blue. How many times has Rod Thorn (Bulls GM) at the time has said once the Big Men came off the board.......folks started calling the Bulls to make a trade for him...but the Bulls decided not too. Actually it was the Bulls who hemmed and hawed about taking MJ. They had been burned previously by drafting a 2 guard. They were hoping Jordan got picked higher and one of the big men fell to number 3. It was a center league back then. Thank goodness for the Bulls that Portland took Bowie and his injury prone arse. LOL. You can't believe no NBA team tried to trade up to get the consensus 2 time College Player of the Year. You got to be kidding me.

After Kobe said he wanted to play for the Lakers and didn't really want Charlotte to draft him........who else but the Lakers would trade up for him. Hell and they didn't have to give up alot either.

I know you understand if you trade up to the top 3 picks in the draft then you have give up most of your team. So I am sure not many of the playoff caliber teams wanted to do that in the 84 draft. You rarely see that happen in any of the drafts.

1996 NBA Draft

Bryant was chosen as the 13th overall draft pick by the Charlotte Hornets in 1996. However, according to Arn Tellem, Bryant's agent at the time, Bryant playing for the Charlotte Hornets was "an impossibility".[23] Nevertheless, the Charlotte Hornets selected Bryant, seeing that there was a chance to trade with the Lakers.[23] Prior to the draft, Bryant had worked out in Los Angeles, in which he scrimmaged against former Lakers players Larry Drew and Michael Cooper, and according to then-Laker manager Jerry West "marched over these people".[24] On July 1, 1996, West traded his starting center, Vlade Divac, to the Hornets in exchange for Bryant's draft rights.[25] Since he was still 17 at the time of the draft, his parents had to cosign his contract with the Lakers until he was able to sign his own when he turned 18 before the season began.[26]

Wrong again :lol::lol: But hey keep trying :lmao:

Love him or hate him he's the best, but y'all really need to get off of that snitch crap.

Shaq shit was raggedy way before and Kobe had nothing to do with it, he's big dumbazz should have been watching the pool boy.

Shaq joined Omega and Kobe could not understand why he could not join. Kobe got upset and the rest is history. In every city Shaq and the Qs got together and Kobe had to stay behind.

Shaq ain't join squat that pu@@y was made an honary Q. His big dumb butt tried to join when he cross registar at SU so he wouldn't flunk out but didn't have what it took to run the line.

Those dogs weren't going to give his big pu@@y azz a pass just cuz he was Shaq.

But hey keep trying, it's entertaining to say the least :lmao:
