Not too many in our community know about this group..they have been around for long time. I like this version of Curtis Mayfield's Freddie 's Dead..

I had their first album/cd. I posted some stuff on them a few years ago.
That song about the radio stations was cold. I first heard of them on BET back in '85 (Back when they played a variety of music). "Party at Ground Zero" was another song. It only had six songs but it was straight. The also appeared in "I'm Gonna Get You Sucka". They were Fly Guys band for his theme song. You really have to be into punk to enjoy it. I will admitt, they are not for everone.

Yes there are some more cuts that are sharp without the crazy zaneness of some of their songs. It's just straight rock. My nephew when he was young 9 years old got one Fishbone casette tapes and recorded over it with some rap. Ironically that was some good rap from the late 80's. lol But anyway as a drummer...I like the drummer John Steward. You are right though Fishbone is not for everyone. It's kind of hard to believe that they are from Compton and Watts I think.
