GRAMBLING, La. (AP) —

It's been quite a long, dreadful journey, but Grambling State has ended its 32-game losing streak, beating NAIA school Central Baptist of Arkansas 83-75 on Monday night.

It was Grambling's first win since March 3, 2012, against Alabama A&M, after finishing 0-28 last season. The win also stopped a 25-game non-conference losing skid, going back to 2010.

Man why you got to rub it in?

APR ISSUES, We gave our basketball coach a 5 year contract, because the situation was so bad. The AD at the time said he wouldn't be surprised if we went 2 years without a win !

It's a start...our program is in good hands with Coach Price and I'm glad that we game him time to get things turned around. He's working and it's gonna pay off...He has a lot to work against. With all the coaching changes, we had transfers and APR issues from it. In addition, when you're under APR sanctions, your practice hours are cut...we need all the practice time we can get. Then scholarships were reduced... imagine going winless last year due to only having 4 scholarship players and now trying to get D1 talent to come to your place.

But Price knew the deal coming in and he was willing to take on the challenge...what impresses me is that he's working through it and not using it as an excuse. Then there's the burden of going on the road and getting killed so the Athletic program can get some funds. His task is not easy...but I think he's the guy to turn it around. I hope we invest more into basketball!

I think with the talent we have coming on in the spring, we will win some games, and we have the best arena in HBCU basketball, so we should be back on your feet in a year or two

I hear the APR scores are up to for the basketball team so that is definitely another plus. Things will get better. On top of that our leading scoring hasn't played, he will be back just in time for SWAC play.

I know their is a lot of bball talent in N LA. Do you guys get a lot of kids from Monroe and Shreveport? Or were the previous coaches dipping into the Dallas area a lot?

Grambling should really go D2 suspend their athletic program or get somebody white to run their athletic program until they get back on their feet. This is a damn shame

No a damn shame is your football team going to a conference championship and winning one out of 5 try's but choking like a virgin in most. Now that's a damn shame.
