I did that, now I understand that it doesnt play since you said it... I thought I was doing something wrong. Thanks a lot!Click on the articulation icon at the top of the page(it looks like a whole note with an accent on top of it) then click on #33. It won't play it but the players can read it.

By the way, I loathe writing percussion parts. It just takes so much work to make them sound well on most of the music notation programs.
Don't you have some kids to tend too????Im starting to write precussion parts in my arrangements. I use Finale 2005. How do I make the snare drum do a roll with out using all those 32nd notes. How do I make the abbreviation for a roll?
How do you get a full staff for precussion? When I click on snare, tenor drum, and bass drum it always gives me one line and the notes are really low but it gives me the sound I want. How do I get the staff?Additionally, there is a snare patch that sounds like a double-stroke roll. I use Finale 2005 and the patch is on the 3rd space when you use the 5-line staff. Slide the note that you are using up and down the staff until you find it. In some instances (like the third space) there are multiple patches for the line or space. Put that together with the above instructions and the roll will sound.

You and yo difficult questions. I hope the music you are writing isn't as difficult as your queries. Now to answer your question, I dont think you can do that on the score it self  . On the parts, Finale will automaticly put in the multimesure rest. You may have to extract the parts the way you want them from the score and then go back to the score, delete the 7 measures, print it, and do the multimeasure rest by hand.Sorry :smash: but, I got a question. :frustrated:
I'm scoring some music that ends with an 8 measure rest on all parts (it would appear). Instead of having a score with 8 empty measures,...is there a way I can get rid of 7 measures and use one as a multimeasure rest on the score????
Holla

LOL!!!! Thats what I'm sayin, bruh!!I know PROF K is right about the parts. I am looking into the score issue.
I am kind of curious as to why a piece would end with 8 measures rest on ALL of the parts.

Even Sibelius?I. too. find percussion parts a pain in Finale...but I find that in all of the scoring programs. However, melodic and harmonic scoring in Finale is a dream.
Even Sibelius?
Someone told me that Sebelius was the best thing to happen since indoor plumbing.Sibelius is an excellent program. Its features have not been able to turn me from Finale.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Finale 2005 or 2003 are my favorites. I don't care for 2006. Have you ever tried to use it?Every builder has his favorite tools. New models and new features come along all the time, but you may tend to stick with "old reliable" because it is confortable.
