FCS Playoff Attendance Numbers Round 1

Man, those jokers go the the jsu president with the asinine request to change conferences, she would call the campus police, have them "billy clubbed" in the head and then drag them out of her office like a common hobo. :emlaugh:

Honestly, I think she is just as delusional as them. Any person with her educational background in engineering should have known jSU and the City of Jackson, MS weren't capable of building and sustaining a $250 to $285 million dollar facility. Plus, she allowed them to convince her to fire a proving winner for a loser. I believe she is going along with whatever they come with until she can find something else to do.

we  at their attendance numbers and the playoffs schools :emlaugh: at our football teams and the way our athletic departments and budgets are ran....

I see this has turned away from what the topic is by....

Well you all know how both sides do it....

They said this so we have to say that and so on and so on.......

:topic: What good is it if SU and grambling move the BC to a week earlier when the entire conference has agreed to continue the SCG????????? Are you guys(especially from J-State) are here saying the Bayou Classic has control over the conferene? And if the BC was moved up a week, then the SCG will go away?

BB, GR, Please explain!!!

Who scared tho? Wasn't the SWAC Championship game created because JSU kept embarrassing the SWAC in the Playoffs ? The Bayou Classic has been moved a couple of times for Grambling to participate in the playoffs, and Eddie Robinson decided to keep it on thanksgiving due to a couple of questionable calls he received in the playoffs and always playing in the road even with a higher ranked team!
A lot of folks don't remember those times. I recall the last time the BC was played before Thanksgiving, 1989, and gram went on the road to play SFA. Or the 95 and 96 J-State teams who had to play on the road.

Their only explanation is that they hate to see two fellow HBCUs make money during college football rivalry week. They can do the same with either Alcorn or Mississippi Valley that same week. Most people are home for the holidays visiting friends and family, therefore giving a boost to attendance if advertised and done right.

The question is why is there a swac championship game in the first place. All the schools are forced to play one another currently so the champion has already been established on the field. So why the rematch? A championship game is only useful if all the teams haven't played one another, as is the case in the mega conferences.

if the 9 game mandate stays the championship game needs to go away, and the conference find a way to get an autobid to the playoffs. if your going to have a championship game, drop down to 7 or 8 conference games and ban non-conference games against conference members.

oh, yeah, the thread topic... playoff attendance was abysmal. would it be better if one of our schools was participating and playing a regional power?

AGREED...100 percent and maybe but its been almost 15 years since we have been in the playoffs so really who's to say...Until our conference gets serious about the play on the field instead of the party in the stands you can cancel the playoffs talk.

Really?

Alcorn defeated SU
Grambling defeated Alcorn
SU defeated Grambling

Who is the 2014 SWAC Champ?

Exactly.... Well actually Alcorn and Gram both have 2 losses.

under the old format Southern would have been named the SWAC Champs...but anyone with football sense can see how stupid it is to play 9 SWAC opponents just to play them in the SCG over again... lets not be prisoners of the moment...

Yeah we would champs. We have only one loss in the SWAC. So if there was no SCG. We would win outright.

Well, Eddie Rob (RIP) is gone now. It's 2015, so let's get with the program instead of living in the past. Let's compete with your peers for some hardware and true competition.

But our AD's (in the early 2000's) were lazy and couldn't fill a schedule. So, teams were playing games that wouldn't count in the standings and so many ppl got confused as to which game was a conference game.

And today, it is still difficult field a complete schedule w/out having a pansy or being a pansy on your schedule.

Are you guys some narcissists or something? This dont have to do with just your two schools, but it does start because of when this game is played. I'm not really worried about BAMA St and their Turkey Day game, cause they will not make it to the playoffs anyway. Hell, so what? We lost some games in the playoffs and we ran with our tails tucked between our legs instead of trying to improve our play and players? Is that how blacks do it? Just give up and run like cowards? Stay in our little mole hole and thump our chests while saying we're the best? Hogwash! I say this backwoods ass conference needs to man up, grab their little nutz, and step up and start trying to compete with this overall (FCS) conference that we say that we belong to.

And are you guys @#$$!@$# or something???? Who cares how many games J-State or Alcorn has lost in the playoffs???? The BC was played on the same day back then!!!!!! The SWAC going to the playoffs has nothing to do with the BC but EVERYTHING TO DO WITH THE SCG!!!!!!!! Like my previous post, how are you guys going to get rid of the SCG?????

And my comment about JSU in 95 and 96 is not about the outcome, it is moreso about always having to travel. In 96, JSU had only 1 loss and was highly ranked, but had to travel. Same as GSU back in 89.
