FCS moving toward 12-game regular seasons beginning in 2026

Attendance arguments.... sigh. What is TnSU's record against AAMU, ASU, JSU and FAMU in the last 20 years? Did having better attendance help any of yall have a winning record against them? lol. Who gives a shit when you get beaten by 60 when you play a decent FCS team OOC? That's exactly why I said what I said. Everyone doesn't have the same goals. When you have high attendance and can't beat nobody is that an acclaim? I'm just asking.

Sure, fans would rather see HBCU's but that has nothing to do with the direction of your program. A&T dominated the celebration bowl and didn't give a shit about attendance when they bounced to the CAA. Neither did Hampton. Again, not everyone has the same goals. Thinking there's something wrong with wanting to be the actual best team in the country is wild.
It's apparent you have never run a business unit or had a P&L responsibility in your life with your rationale!

As a Tenn State alum, it does pain to know how much our attendance has suffered over the years. It's no secret that we are in a dire financial situation, and increasing revenue any way possible would do wonders. Having 8 home games this year is awesome, and hopeully we are able to capitalize in some way.

Honestly, I also wonder if our home attendance suffers so much not because of the opponent, but the actual cost of visiting Nashville has extremely skyrocketed over the years.

Dude, I have yet to meet a TNState alum who like the OVC. If there are some, they are in the minority. So what are you talking about? How many times has TNState been to the playoffs in the last 20 years? Also, you can still go to the playoffs from the SWAC. FAMU went in 2021. I can practically guarantee you that if JSU doesn't win the EAST this year, we will be in the playoffs.

Meanwhile, TNState will be playing in an empty stadium, waiting on HBCUs to save them. Why do you think they have to play in the SHC for that lil bit of money? It's because they don't make ANY money at a home game. They might make some this year for HC vs Howard...maybe.

The same example can be used for the App State's and GaSouthern's of the world. They knew the playoffs were lowly and would rather play for a lil bowl game than for a playoff that got them nothing.

As for TNState, JSU won the last 3. You think they would want to see JSU right now? lol

Did you really go to Valley?

Doesn't it say more about the MEAC and SWAC that they haven't been able to persuade TNSU over all these years? Schools have come and gone in both conferences , however neither leadership has been able to whoo TNSU to their respective conference.

Has either made a formal attempt? I actually heard that it was TNState that requested a meeting with both a few years back. I have never heard of the SWAC or MEAC seeking them (or any school) out.

I personally don't know the answer , but as along as i remember this has been a discussion to bring TNSU into one of the conferences. It's just weird the conversation continues

The even more weird thing is attempting to down talk them for traveling a different path when, on the field, they've been more successful. Not all black folks have to be the same lol. That's what's hard for many to comprehend.

What have they been successful in? It took the OVC to dismantle before they won anything but that has been it - everyone wants it but there's some overlord who's preventing it 🤣

Please tell me what they have been more successful in?

It continues because to many, TNState is out of place. They are a blueblood. The same will continue to be said about NCA&T and Hampton as well.

So basically the swac is going back to a 9 game conference schedule. 😂 With our AD's it will be the same ole thing. I get blown out FBS, 2 D's and a swac school. Them ninjas are the laziest AD's on the planet.
What do you suggest Mr. Dog to the CEE I can’t wait to hear this ninja shit

It can be said but again, what are the leaders of either conference doing to present a package to show why they should leave where they are and come to / back to the SWAC / MEAC? If it's such a great idea , where is the presentation with the fact and figures to prove it

Im not disagreeing with you BUT if I was the SWAC or MEAC, I wouldn't come to them. It would be up to them to come to us. That is what FAMU and BCU did. If I recall correctly, TNState did approach the SWAC and MEAC but, if I also recall correctly, it was moreso about forming an FBS conference or something along those lines. Even those talks are over 10 years old.

I think it just sounds like a good idea based on what most believe is common sense for them to join the SWAC. Their fan base had died out. It may be too late but I think it may be possible to revive it with SWAC opponents. None of the TSU alums I talk to care about anything outside of Homecoming and the JMC. But they came to the SHC. Its a toss up but I dont think TNState could do any worse.

FCS schools already had the option to add a twelfth game. I'm missing what this latest regulation accomplishes.

The 12th game could only be added if there were 14 Saturdays like this year.

It will be 12 games regardless now

@LAW DAWG they only had that option like what was said above. Now there will be more Week 0 games without having to play in a classic. They did not extend the weeks of the season by moving the playoffs back so schools would have another weekend to play like the FBS schools have.
