He says blacks don't want jobs that immigrants take

MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin (AP) -- Nation of Islam leader Louis Farrakhan said Mexican President Vicente Fox was right to say that Mexican immigrants take jobs "that not even blacks want."

Although Fox was sharply criticized for his remarks by some black leaders, Farrakhan said Sunday that blacks do not want to go to farms and pick fruit because they already "picked enough cotton."

"Why are you so foolishly sensitive when somebody is telling you the truth?" he asked the crowd at Mercy Memorial Baptist Church.

He said blacks and Latinos should form an alliance to correct differences and animosity between the two communities.

Its sad to me to see how people still don't see how this is worded as an insult.

"even blacks" :shame: I guess now we just accecpt the view that we are the scum of the country.


However he is smart for pushing alliance with latinos. I believe thats to late now.
 
Latinos identify with whites more than blacks.....it's way too late....a hispanic who accumulates a large sum of money that's been in America they take on more white characteristics.

Look at the hispanic politicians....they blend right in but when a black tries to assimilate they stick out like a sore thumb

what I hate is hispanics (especially in Houston) will come in an area and show no respect for an area. They'll live almost anywhere in any environment and look like they don't care....

they are targeted big time for the taco stands....just too damn many of them cooking the same thing

yeah, yeah,,, the whole thing is ridiculous. i saw no big deal when the mexican guy made the comment in the first place. what in the world is so wrong with what he (Vincente') said? The guy was/is right. Didn't take a genious or this quack Farakan to tell me that and make it alright to say. I've been saying the same thing (in my round-about sarcasm on various topics) since being on this forum but when i say stuff like this I get blasted into oblivion as being some kind of loon, oh but now that Farakan acknowledges the obvious that Vincente said, now all of a sudden there's a huge epiphany??? please.

You shole is right TBF. Even though I agree with Louis F. TBF has hit the nail on the head about the Hispanics. I can't say I blame them. As Bill Cosby has said we have done alot of this to ourselves.

Bill Cosby has started a syndrome.

There is nothing in that statement to be true or false. His statement actually has nothing to do with saying blacks are lazy. What he did was find a way to describe just how low the jobs are that illegal Mexicans work. In order to show how low the jobs are he picked what he felt was the lowest rung on the ladder...blacks...much like saying even the dog won't eat your cooking (implying what is a dog...it should eat anything...now replace dog with black person). Even though there are far more whites on welfare they, by this statement, are expemt from needing to work such jobs.

So when you all say this statement is true you are not calling blacks lazy. You are agreeing that we are worthless.

I think that there is a dialect issue. Correct me if im wrong but alot of latinos use the word "even" extremely often when communicating. :idea: Just a thought though!
