Ex-Georgia RB Crowell keeps sights on NFL dream

Eric Haw didn't really want to be at the FCS level. Him and Marcel Frost were just lazy at Ohio State and it parlayed in their output at JSU. Haw had skills. Just was not durable. Crowell has at least shown he could run in the SEC. His line at Bama State is of course not on UGA level so that is an adjustment for him. Plus he arrived with a bullseye on him. If Crowell treats the SWAC like it is the SEC in his preparation then he will perform. A lot of those FBS transfers end up at our schools and don't think they have to work as hard as they did at the FBS level. They think they can just suit up and go out and kick arse. So unless their mind is right, they sometimes have poor production. Then some like you said were just over hyped in the first place. Haw was that. Even before his trouble at Ohio State, I know my fellow OSU folks were down on him for not living up to his potential.

Once BAMA State loses to Jacksonville State, Jackson State, and UAPB back to back to back to begin the season at 0-3, he gonna quit and just call an agent.

That might not be a good idea. With the NFL being more of a passing league and RBs are being used by committee and really only a few are considered FRANCHISE players. He better do everything in his power to convince scouts and personnel directors he is NFL worthy. So quitting would be detrimental to him getting a shot. RB is not a glamor position anymore at the NFL level. Unless you are an Adrian Peterson clone, folks feel like they can pick up RBs easily to supplement their passing game.

Don't know if you're being serious with your question but...

*From Wikipedia - Isaiah Crowell (born January 8, 1993) is an American football running back for the Alabama State Hornets. He played his freshman year for the University of Georgia as he led the Bulldogs with 850 yards rushing that season.

And? If you didn't get a thousand plus yards, you shouldn't be on many folks radar.
He must've really impressed you for some odd reason. Like I said, for some it takes more to impress. Ain't got nothing to do with hate.

Who said I was impressed? All I did was answer your question as to if he actually "played" or not.

Anyone who keeps up with College Football knows who Isaiah Crowell is, especially when he played at Georgia. :smh:

You act like he playing for PV though. Oh well...

See stuff like this is when you see who REALLY watches football and actually knows what they are talking about. Erik Haw, Marcel Frost, and Tobias Singleton don't even need to be in the same sentence with Crowell. Crowell was considered the NUMBER 1 running back IN THE NATION when he came out. He started every game he played at UGA, and was gonna be the starter if not for the off-the-field problems. The kid actually produced for UGA, unlike Singleton who barely sniffed the field at Ole Miss, or Haw and Frost. Still trying to figure out how a kid can be voted SEC freshman offensive player of the year, but you still got folks asking if he was THAT good.

P.S. This is good though, keep talking because the more people talk the more we see who really knows sports.

I know with you being from Alabama and all, the SEC stamp of approval means everything. But when you look at his numbers....his stats were very average. You say he missed some games, how many exactly? His GA bio says he played in 12 games. Even at Bama State, his stats were decent but nothing out of the ordinary. And didn't the coaches name Clowney freshman of the year in 2011?
During the season, Crowell had some breakout performances such as his 30 carries, 147 yard-outing against Ole Miss on September 24 in Oxford, Miss. as Georgia won, 27-13.[7] Crowell followed up the Ole Miss performance with 104 yards rushing against Miss. State on October 1 as Georgia defeated the MSU Bulldogs, 24-10.[8] He apparently had scored on a 49-yard touchdown run in the contest, but that play was cut short to only 14 yards after the line judge had determined that Crowell's shoe had just touched the sideline—as it appeared to be very close according to video replay.[9] On October 8 at Knoxville, Tenn., Crowell ran into a stout Tennessee defense as the Columbus, Ga. native scored two touchdowns but was contained to 19 rushes for 58 yards and two receptions for five yards. Georgia defeated Tennessee, 20-12.[10]

Later in the season on October 29, Crowell helped Georgia win a slugfest against rival Florida, 24-20, as the true freshman ran with the football 18 times for 81 yards.[11] Crowell, during the November 12 Auburn game, rushed 24 times for 132 yards and a touchdown as Georgia won, 45-7

He missed 3 games.
And I'm not sure if the coaches named Clowney freshman of the year, but http://www.wtvm.com/story/16193489/georgias-crowell-named-ap-sec-freshman-of-the-year

All these diff folks acting like crowell plays for them, I just used an example...Im 19 years old, I know I have a long way to go. Stay in your lane valley boi

Don't see where he missed 3 games but ill take your word. My point remains the same. Based on production he's a good nt great back and certainly not a game changer. Alabama state was better the year before he got there.

You keep hanging your hat on this but his stats say he was decent. He certainly isn't what you hyped him up to be. SEC freshman of the year is a nice honor. But when the stats say he didn't even crack the top 75 in any rushing category as a freshman....and then he dropped down a division and still put up similar numbers...sounds to me like we're talking about a decent player. Nothing more nothing less. yet some expect this player to break out this season. Maybe he will but his numbers thus far say otherwise.

Well said bro.

I told everyone last year that he wouldnt lead the SWAC in rushing last year and people said I was crazy... I think if you put a "good" SWAC running back on UGAs team you will see similiar numbers. Just let the man play on the field.... and throw away that SEC freshman of the year title. It will do nothing for him in the future.

People fall into that trap unfortunately. I remember last years game against bcc, the guy on espn kept insisting they force the ball to Crowell, howling about his "sec" pedigree. Like they had Bo Jackson out there. It took our coach years to learn that transfers aren't always best.

This is all that I was saying in my post dude...and people took that and went CLEAN off. All I was saying was some transfers work out great and some "regular home-grown" guys end up being beasts. This was not a personal attack on crowell. Hell I watch the sec and for a female I know a lot of football. Him and Dyer were supposed to have phenomenal careers at their schools.

Until he produces these astronomical numbers to lead up to the HYPE he came in with he will be average...

He will have average numbers as long as his coach/QB plays keep-away from him. Jennings is gone so maybe the new QBs won't keep the ball on the read as much.
