Ex-Georgia RB Crowell keeps sights on NFL dream

1300 for the year with games over 150 against AAMU and UK

Why are you throwing out numbers like this for UK when you darn well Bama St don't have the OL it will take for him to get 80 rushing yards against UK now that OL might be fine for 150 against Bama A&M...Just Keeping It Real

They are hoping those transfer linemen will help. Crowell told them he was not coming back unless they got him a lot of good linemen who could block. So you know Barlow went right to McDonalds.

NFL scouts know who Crowell is and you can best believe they are keeping an eye on him to steal him in later rounds. All they looking to see now is if he has kept his nose clean off the field, because they know he has talent on the field.

How do they know this when he hasn't shown it? Did he play at Georgia? If not, how do they know?

He was good at Georgia, the thing about getting these skill position players from big time schools is that we don't have other top players to compliment them... You can get a four-five star WR, but if you have a one star qb it will not work. You can get a sec rb but if you don't have four-five star OL he won't be as good.

Dude think/read before you type stuff. The kid was the number #1 running back recruit coming out of high school. He then proceeded to START, and lead UGA in rushing AS A FRESHMAN, so I would think he has shown it. Let's use some common sense here.

Dude didn't even get a thousand yards behind Georgia's huge frontline. He didn't get a thousand yards for Bama State last year either. If he doesn't shine this year, he may not get drafted.
Just goes to show you that some folks are not as easily impressed as others.

Some people might not be sec fanatics....because I love football in all of its forms I know of crowell. Some people just pay attention to swac, can't fault him for not knowing.

Maybe he meant "substantial playing time", like did he just play at Georgia or did he PLAY at Georgia. Jayrob clarify please

Maybe I'm missing something, I didn't see anything outstanding about Crowell. He didn't even finish in the top 75 among rushers as a freshman and his ypc was below average' for a supposed top-level back. He was good for Bama State last year, but again, he wasn't any better than a lot of SWAC backs, including the 2 guys we had splitting carries. What is it about his play so far has anyone convinced he's primed for a huge year?

I don't keep up with players who are overrated that's why I asked. Playing as a freshman don't mean jack these days. If Manziel fizzles out in his sophomore year, his stock will plummet.
Cromwell's stock plummeted as soon as he signed on with Bama State, as did his on-the-field production.

That's what I'm trying to figure out.

He aint convinced me of NOTHING....An OL can make or break your RB. I don't get into the hype of players. Hell, I remember haw....smh. For example, tobias is 4 star wr, rico was NOT highly recruited out of hs. Do you see the difference in production? Haw was highly touted, sims was what I deem a "no name" guy and he drags 5 or 6 ppl in the endzone and folks have yet to figure out how to stop him. Very few sec caliber players survive in this conference. It is "ruff in da swac"

You can't be this dumb... :smh:

Since you didn't know if he played at Georgia or not, do you know there's this thing called the NFL Combine??

I guess the folks who watch a lot of SEC football saw something. Crowell was the SEC freshman of the year, even though he missed some games.

But the JSU faithful are saying he didn't do anything at Georgia... :emlaugh:

If that ain't HATIN! :emlaugh:

But I believe you can. The question was did he get on the field, not attend the school. LOL. You know play IN a game? Hope that's simple enough for ya.

When did he play there? Oh, I know. Never.
I hope you can understand that one.:smh:

I know with you being from Alabama and all, the SEC stamp of approval means everything. But when you look at his numbers....his stats were very average. You say he missed some games, how many exactly? His GA bio says he played in 12 games. Even at Bama State, his stats were decent but nothing out of the ordinary. And didn't the coaches name Clowney freshman of the year in 2011?

Eric Haw didn't really want to be at the FCS level. Him and Marcel Frost were just lazy at Ohio State and it parlayed in their output at JSU. Haw had skills. Just was not durable. Crowell has at least shown he could run in the SEC. His line at Bama State is of course not on UGA level so that is an adjustment for him. Plus he arrived with a bullseye on him. If Crowell treats the SWAC like it is the SEC in his preparation then he will perform. A lot of those FBS transfers end up at our schools and don't think they have to work as hard as they did at the FBS level. They think they can just suit up and go out and kick arse. So unless their mind is right, they sometimes have poor production. Then some like you said were just over hyped in the first place. Haw was that. Even before his trouble at Ohio State, I know my fellow OSU folks were down on him for not living up to his potential.

Don't know if you're being serious with your question but...

*From Wikipedia - Isaiah Crowell (born January 8, 1993) is an American football running back for the Alabama State Hornets. He played his freshman year for the University of Georgia as he led the Bulldogs with 850 yards rushing that season.

Newcomer Isaiah Crowell earned the starting running back job for the Bulldogs as a freshman for their September 17 game against Coastal Carolina.[3] However, it was his fine performance against South Carolina on September 10 that created Crowell's chance to take over the starting role as tailback for the University of Georgia as the 6-0, 215-pound true freshman scored two touchdowns while rushing 16 times for 118 yards and catching two passes for 40 yards against the Gamecocks in a 45-42 heartbreaking loss to coach Steve Spurrier's South Carolina Gamecocks.

Crowell finished the season with 185 carries for 850 rushing yards and five touchdowns. The Columbus, Ga. native also had eight receptions for 59 yards and a touchdown in 12 games.[16] On December 5, Crowell was named freshman of the year by The Associated Press.
