Before many of you laugh, or scoff at this notion, I have an idea, and I hope you guys give it some thought.
I think the posters on this board, as well as the students of SU, and GSU, should start an e-mail/letter writing campaign to the producers of ESPN's College Gameday, and see if they can do a live telecast for this year's Bayou Classic. If not this year, maybe next year.
With enough e-mails, and letters I think it can be done. Anytime they can do a broadcast for a Bowling Green vs. Northern Illinois game I know they could do one for the BC. I'm more than sure in their summer production meetings, nobody in Bristol, CT had that game on thier radar.
The draw for ESPN would be 72,000 + fans for the game, over 200,000+ for the event that is the Classic, a meaningful game for 2 rivals, and the fact that NBC decides to show the game each year, along with a major sponsor in State Farm, and the fact HBCU's have long placed quality athletes into the NFL, it's about time ESPN took notice.
What do you guys think?
NICE
