Episcopalians

I'd rather be preached the gospel by this man, who is open with his sexuality, and comfortable within his OWN relationship with HIS God, than some Bible banging zealot who acts as if he is above reproach when 3 or 4 kids in the congregation are his, yet he and his wife have no children; or the one who molests boys and smiles in their parents faces.

Now, as far as this "man" who is accusing this guy of "inappropriate touching" ... he could have just done what I would have, and jacked that fool in his jaw, as opposed to waiting until something big was about to happen to speak up.

My guess is the isht was neither inappropriate or unsolicited.

Yea-men susta VaahNitaaa....

Ah, the sweet sounds of bigotry.

Bigotry:confused: Please

How is me not following him meaning I won't go along in a tolerant society so everyone can live with dignity?? Please Explain

Do you really think this will make society any more tolerant than it is now?

He is catering to a congregation that will think that they can stay in their sins and it will be alright. They can point to their supposed leader and feel justified in their actions because he feels justified in his. But this is just a case of the blind leading the blind. (Matt 15: 10-14) There is no way that this man can deliver the light because he is living in darkness and his eyes have been darkened.
I like your analysis.
Originally posted by Dr. Mac. Sure others have sinned in leadership positions, but they never endorse their actions as being o.k. in God's sight. This is effectively what this bishop is doing, and by his actions, he's having his will supercede God's will. For me its black and white; either one accepts the Bible as the Word of God or you don't. And the bible is clear on homosexuality.
Good point.

Ah, the sweet sounds of bigotry.

As christians we have to speak out against wrong. This is immoral and against the teaching of Jesus. Any sin that we commit is wrong. This is not about judging and being judgemental this is about doing what God expects of us and that is trying to live our lives unblemished. We have to stand for what is right. This is not about bigotry or being tolerant about someone's lifestyle. This is about what is right and what is wrong. We shouldn't be tolerant with someone openly saying that they are gay and committing fornication and adultery in the name of the Lord. This man is still living the lifestyle. He hasn't changed his lifestyle. God forgives us for everything we do but He is not happy when we continue to do and make the same mistakes over and over. We cannot continue to make excuses for our own selfish foolishness. This is what is wrong with society today; anything goes. We cannot continue to say that it is alright for us to continue sinning when we know it is wrong. God is not pleased with the way we are living our lives and being so tolerant with sin.

Sophandros,

You normally at least make sense to me in drawing your conclusions, but how in the world did you come to label 89's position as bigotry? He didn't say the guy could preach, just not not to him and his. That is clearly advocating tolerance.

Being a biblical leader is not unlike being a parent. There is a standard that is established for your family and the leader is responsible for both its implementation and demonstration. Less than that is to invite failure through the erosion of the standard, an effect which will last for generations. In the case of a biblical leader, that standard is established for him: it is the text of the Bible. In the case of Rev. Robinson, he acknowledges that he ACTIVELY and WILLINGLY violates that standard, and contend that such a stance is in accordance with the scriptures. My problem with this whole situation is that the Episcopal Church, USA has chosen to ordain such a leader in any capacity. There is enough scripture to cleary identify such an action as improper.

In any case, I aint no episcopalian so I don't care.

I'd stay home and teach the Bible to my kids myself if the only ones allowed to teach are those who go AGAINST it's teachings.

Uh, then you are not espousing TOLERANCE, but BIGOTRY.

Kemer's a BI-GOT! Kemer's a BI-GOT!!

:lmao:

:angel2:

Dang, that didn't sound too educated, did it?

Sorry, '89. It was an honest mistake. I don't know you and don't actively remember other posts by you. I was going on a single post where your gender was not identified.

God help us and have mercy on our souls.
We say that we are rich and have need of nothing but, we fail to realize that we are poor, blind and naked. We as a society have developed a reprobate mind
Satan's lease on this world is almost up and he is really stiring things up and society thinks that it is the democratic way. Well, God's laws are not democratic. Either you with him or you are not. There's no compromise. First, they were talking about Gay marriages and now we got a Gay Bishop??? This is like Satan sittin' in the temple of God molesting the saints with deception. I trembled when I saw this on the news because I know this stinks in the nostrals of God. It's gonna get worse and worse.

Lord!,... please have mercy on us!!!!!

You're not a bigot. And no true Christian is that says they won't tolerate this perversion of the gospel. Or any other perversion for that matter.
