My name is Marques D. Graham and I am the Director of Bands at EWC. I really enjoy reading all of the topics here in the 5th, and I also enjoy putting my 2 cents in every now and then. But, at this time I am posting to offer you an opportunity of a lifetime. A chance to become a member of the Edward Waters College family. EWC is located in Jacksonville, Fl. Our college is a small private institution that is growing and building a reputation for having an exceptional music department. EWC is also the oldest HBCU in the state of Florida.
Our band program is only three years old, but has already become a topic of discussion in the band world. Our band has a tremendous amount of pride, while realizing that we have a lot of hills to climb. The students in our band are especially proud of the fact that our band provides an opportunity to write history. 20 years from now, our members will proudly say, "I was one of the first members of the EWC Triple Threat Marching Band". At this time I am offering you the same opportunity. Without sounding vain or arrogant, just because our band is three years old it does not mean we are not competative, and we will only get better with time.
If you are interested in obtaining more information about our college and audition materials feel free to contact me at 904-386-0898. Or email me at [email protected]. You can also use this topic to post any contact information you feel comfortable leaving. To complete an application, visit our school's web-site at: ewc.edu. We also have a band DVD avaliable for those students who have not seen our band. Finally, we provide very lucrative scholarships to many of our musicians and auxillary. Thank You for taking the time to read this post, and I look forward to seeing many of you at the EWC band camp in August.
