No. From my understanding, the president and their BOT aren't ready to pull that trigger and effectively kill off the MEAC.https://hbcugameday.com/2021/04/01/delaware-state-announces-big-changes-in-athletics/ IS THE WRITING ON THE WALL?

No one else is leaving the conference anytime soon.
To go where? In reality there’s little out there that makes them appealing as location sucks and what do they bring to the table outside bowling?
I don't know the appeal other than geography but the NEC invited them to join.To go where? In reality there’s little out there that makes them appealing as location sucks and what do they bring to the table outside bowling?
NCAA outlawed inter divisional postseason football.l decades ago.Wow. Hope not. Like I said before. What happens to the Celebration bowl. Will it soon be a bowl between the SWAC and a Div II conference team. Not appealing. Nothing for the teams to look forward to besides a conference championship
I really don’t think so. The special ingredients of two HBCU Conference Championships from HBCU Conferences adds the flavor needed to succeed.Celebration Bowl not going anywhere, contingency plans has always been in place for SWAC Champion and highest ranked D1 HBCU outside SWAC. Also, IVY League has always wanted to play in bowl game, but Celebration Bowl is here to stay with or without the MEAC.

Robert Morris is in the Horizon League and Big South (for football) now.Delaware
Duquesne
Saint Francis
Sacred Heart
LIU
Bryant
Wagner
Central Connecticut
Merrimack
Robert Morris (I think they are still in.)
The NEC is the only place for them to go. Why? Because Patriot League will be a deep end of non major sports for Del State and force to to make so called minor sports a priority. With all of their troubles, they won’t be excited to make facility and competitive improvements to their non football and basketball programs. The PL would be too demanding to a program that is happy with a 6 win football season, and cherishes Delaware's
Punch!
The Colonial (CAA) is too much for them, and an Independent move will officially put Del State on suicide watch.
Got it. They were in the NEC. They left in 2020.Robert Morris is in the Horizon League and Big South (for football) now.
Delaware State will do whatever Master Delaware tells them to do. With the MEAC rapidly collapsing, this is the best chance to grab a microphone for the conference. They will not survive on the Division I level outside of the MEAC. The NEC won’t sell any tickets. The CAA might invite them to wash dishes and cook for the conference. They can’t survive and an Independent because no HBCU wants to schedule home and homes vs them. Delaware State will be be in the CIAA soon and very soon. The tap dancing for Delaware job isn’t paying the bills.
Travel isn’t the issue it once was with FAMU & and BCU exiting the conference. SCSU is the furthest trip and that’s every other year. After July 1st the MEAC will be pretty much a bus league. It's just a matter of time. Travel costs kill DSU

Bingo.
And if they can convince 1-3 of those VA D2 HBCUs and/or WSSU to somehow move up, it would still be a bus league. On the contrary, if they moved down to the CIAA, they would still be a bus league with SSU being that lone long trip every two years
As much as I would love to have Virginia State in the MEAC, I don’t see a D2 school making the jump anytime soon.Bingo.
