Down goes #20 BCU

Heavens NO...Not even a top 3 candidate.

Jenkins is more of what we want in terms of young, full of energy and he is a proven winner...Maynor fits and we would take him but I wouldnt over Jenkins..

Really? Maynor seems to be a better overall coach. You do know Maynor is only 45 years old. Plus he went 45-6 before taking over Hampton. 6-3 in the D2 Playoffs. Honestly Maynor's resume is more impressive than Jenkins. That cat won as a player as well.

He has done that with everyone. Jenkins ain't going to leave for another HBCU I don't believe until he is SURE that he is not going to get a PWC job somewhere. He wanted SU to wait before we hired Big Worm as he backdoor dealing with BCU and hoping one of those local PWCs hired him. When Broussard said no we can't wait for the interview in person then he pulled out.

Honestly I don't see why he would leave BCU for another HBCU at this point. He is in a talent rich Florida and finally gotten BCU to pay him. He can go to the playoffs if his team wins the conference. Don't see what any other HBCU can offer him? If he is making 285. Are you going to pay 300K for him?

That is true...just wishful thinking on my part...Maybe we can find that diamond in the rough somewhere..:smh: because right now aint cutting it..:smh:

No one has ever verified his salary but if he is making $285K, $300K would not be enough to get him from BCU. His hometown and family are 3.5 hours away and his wife is also from Florida. $15K is not worth that. A PWC FCS school is also not going to pay him more that BCU.

But didn't he take WSSU to the MEAC and got whooped all the way back down to D2? Or was that another coach? Had to be another coach if he went 45-6 at WSSU.

Yeah I watch most of that game, Hampton freshman QB put on a show last night. That loss really hurt BCU, no Meac title or payoff birth this year. Quick question FAM4lyfe The way BCU played last night do you think Famu has a chance to beat them in the Florida classic?

Yes I do...I've seen some positives from our team as the season has progressed...we played SCSU tough, had a chance to cut the lead to 3 late in the 4th quarter before a fumble inside the redzone led to the Bulldogs final TD...we had NSU, who was in 1st place at the time, beat and didn't kick the game winning FG at the 1 yard line, and we matched NCA&T stride for stride until our punt return for TD(which gave us a 3rd quarter lead) got called back and the wheels fell completely off the bus...we have a scrappy team that I truly think can upset BCU next weekend.

We've also adopted a new offensive identity/philosophy under the interim coach, so we'll see what happens...gotta get past Delaware State in 30 degree weather tomorrow first though

I agree. He wants to get to a lower tier FBS school like Florida International or Florida Atlantic. I think he applied or was interviewed for one of them. Now he might take a coordinator job at a bigger FBS school. A lot of folks think if Schiano gets another college gig that Jenkins would be on his radar.

if he is making close to $300K at BCU, that's better than a coordinator job at school like FIU or FAU. You think they pay that much for a coordinator? Even if they do, he will be a LOSER there and looking for work. BCU is stable. Unless a P5 school calls, he needs to sit his azz down on that Daytona Beach.

No, he would look to be a HEAD COACH at the lower tier FBS level schools like FIU. But he would definitely leave to the be the OC say for a school like U of H or South Florida.

I think it'll be difficult for him to go to a coordinator's role from his current role as a head coach. Have y'all ever seen how ballistic he goes on the sidelines after a play doesn't go his way? He looks like he's ready to kill everybody in the stadium including the beer guys.

Also, moving to a FIU would be a huge risk in the event he fails or becomes mediocre there then he'll never get the "home run" gig.

True. Maybe Schiano (his old boss) gets a gig somewhere this offseason and offers him an OC job. But you are right. Jenkins be going off. So does Maynor. LOL.

Maynor talks cash SCHITT tho during interviews. I would love to have him in Jackson just for that.. LOL His personality does not fit Hampton at all.
Seems he has a major rebuilding job to do at Hampton tho.

Maynor has already let it be publicly known that he wants to be the head coach at A&T in the future

I thought he refused to interview when they fired Fobbs. That's why they took so long to hire Broadway. Maybe he didn't want to come into the APR mess.
