Re: Doug was trying to be professional but.........

Thtas normal rates in NO. Folks have no problem payin for essence and other events. You have a entire year to prepare. No excuse. Again folks are in New Orleans. We have to get them in the game. We need to get rid of that management company that has no clue on how to un a black event.

True that is normal rates...but the rates in NO Are still up from where they use to be in the early 2000's
Essence is still going strong but not as strong as it once was

Sorry, but those are not "normal" rates. I have been to New Orleans enough during non peak times to know better. Those are not year around rates.

Re: Doug was trying to be professional but.........

The BC needs to cater to a mature audience. Right now most events at the BC are for young people, i.e. greek show and the battle of the bands.

I love it when GSU wins...don't get me wrong...but if SU was to make the game competitive and maybe even squeeze out a couple wins in a row, the butts will return to the seats. Winning cures everything. The dome is packed on Friday night....let's get it packed on Saturday as well.

They also need more events for middle aged and older people to do after the game. I'm almost to the point of loading up my car and driving back to Dallas after the game. Other than eating, there isn't anything to do.

Randomly they have been, but not the night before the game in the Superdome with 40,000 in attendance.

Im not saying get rid of the battle of the bands and the greek show. They probably need to scale those two events back and add more events for a mature audience, such as an old school concert and comedy show.

I don't call 25+ years as random.

Why would you scale back the Battle of the Bands and Greek Show that have 30 thousand+ people in attendance? That has nothing to do with the game's attendance. People right now are just more interested in seeing the Greeks and Bands battle it out. You have all the greeks, band alumni, and high school band students along with their families packing the dome every year to see that.

Tape delay? No no no... Doug said what needed to be said. The dome is charging you rent for 75000 people but 40000 are showing up. Now 40k aint bad. The dome is just a big ass cave so it looks empty.

The Battle of Bands and the Greek Show is attended by a bunch of high school kids that's going to spend very little money and most likely will not attend the game. In my opinion, watching two bands seated next to each other playing a bunch of songs is boring to me, which is basically the same thing at the game when they are seated across from each other. Since the game is supposedly the main attraction, the Bayou Classic Committee needs to surround the game with events that would give the people that are more interested in watching the game an incentive to participate in person instead of watching the game on T.V.
